Shaanti is, even among Curdatl, rather large. Standing at 6'7“ and weighing in at 190 lbs, all from shredded muscles derived from farm work and physical training, he looks like he'd need to use a VANDR as a sparring partner.

His skin is the color of milk chocolate, and his eyes resemble two violet gemstones. His wavy, jet-black hair comes to ear length, and sits like a mop on his head, giving him a distinct “islander” look. He has full lips and an average nose and ears. His eyes are almond-shaped and deep set, with bushy eyebrows. His facial structure is chiseled, like the rest of his body.

Shaanti's horns are proportionate to his body, meaning they too are quite large. They are a dark gray, like the color of ash, and curve a little more inwards than is normal for male Iroma. His body plates are the same color.

When it comes to the Curdatl stereotype, Shaanti is a walking contradiction. Like most Curdatl, he's content with very simple pleasures, is very easy to get along with, and is a genuinely sweet and caring guy. His large size makes him intimidating, but he's honestly a gentle giant. However, he is probably the quietest, most shy person you'll ever meet. He's not a mute, although he may seem like it sometimes, he just prefers not to speak unless absolutely necessary. When he speaks, however, he turns heads with his amazingly poetic language gained from long hours spent reading scripture and other literature. If that wasn't enough, he has a singing voice that could make a Nepleslian cry. Sadly, most will never hear it.

Shaanti is very devout in his faith as well, having joined the Astral Vanguard to search for his true purpose in life. He finds true meaning in being a “protector” or “guardian”. He regularly practices Bahbi meditation, owing to his rather solitary nature. He has learned the virtues of patience, silence, and solitude. All of this combined makes him an excellent candidate for a sharpshooter. But when that patience runs out, you have no hope. Run. Run as far and as fast as you can, for you have awakened the beast.

Shaanti was born and raised in the Domoro Valley on Maekardan, the youngest of seven brothers in a family dedicated to farming. Shaanti started life as a rather pudgy, unattractive child. His horns were too big, and their dark color meant that they couldn't be well polished and shined as was preferred by other Curdatl. He also wasn't too bright, leading him to be picked on by his older brothers (in a normal sibling manner), yet also by his classmates at school (in a less friendly fashion). Thus, in his youth, he had a short temper, always being on alert for the next insult, and always ready to fight. Fortunately, it was this natural aggressiveness and energy that made him a prodigy at fieldball, which gained him some esteem amongst his peers. To try and catch up with his schoolmates intellectually, he began voraciously reading whatever he could get his hands on, his favorite being the The Dreamer Vigil. He became deeply immersed in his faith as a result, even forming a habit of singing religious songs whilst tending his crops.

Time went on, and puberty worked it's magic. Shaanti grew much larger than the other boys and filled into his large horns, also becoming popular with the girls. But Shaanti had also grown mentally. He was much more level-headed, introspective, and unusually introverted for someone of his race. From the Book of Dreams, he learned to interpret his own dreams. He often dreamed of being an archer standing high above a battle, silently protecting his allies while remaining in the shadows, receiving no acknowledgement for his deeds. Yet, he didn't mind. It filled him with great pride to be someone's “guardian angel”. Thus, after a long, solitary meditation session, Shaanti decided to listen to what his dreams were telling him, and enlisted in the Astral Vanguard
