Itami stands at 5'11“ tall, weighing 193 lbs. He is well-built from his years of training with the Rangers and from his active life prior to joining the Army, he is still an avid climber and runner, as well as his rigorous hand-to-hand training as a youth. His hair is a close-cropped black, there is a scar above his right ear from a grazing bullet wound and a scar along his jaw from a training accident.

Itami can at times be seen as cold, but that is only because he is a somewhat solitary person, it is not that he won't talk to people, but he must warm up to them first as he was trained to access quickly and then react. He joined the Vanguard division of the Rangers, because he has strong feelings of protecting that which he cares about. He is a very loyal and trustworthy person, who often puts the mission first before his own feelings. He tends to remain rather coolheaded and is a mixture of both recklessly brave and cautious, all depending on what the situation warrants.

He is not against relationships, but he tends to bide his time to learn more about a person before he does anything. He can be a social person but prefers a small group of people over large numbers. He has never had a serious romantic relationship, but that is likely because he is still looking. He does his best to treat people fairly.

Itami was born to Jui and Mayumi after they both retired from the Star Army of Yamatai and moved back to Vela, on the planet of Yamatai, his father had grown up here as a child and wanted their son to enjoy the feeling of growing up in the country, running the family orchard. He grew up their with his cousins and younger sister. Itami was the only of the family to continue the tradition of service in the Army. His father consented to let him join at the age of 19, and he was well on his way to becoming a field medic, when his aptitude for survival, quick-thinking and natural athleticism was noticed by Special Operations. This was the point where he went from being a Medic to joining the Rangers.

Itami quickly found a home within the ranks of the Star Army Rangers, his natural aptitude for climbing and survival helped him make a name for himself and he was selected for the Vanguard Division of Special Operations. He found a new family there as well, much as his father and mother had before him. This new family was his comrades in arms within not only Special Operations but other service members within the Star Army of Yamatai.

All Star Army Common Skills, and the occupation-specific skills for being a Ranger, specifically Recon training. He has limited training in Basic Medicine and First Aid as he was trained as a Combat Medic before being selected for the Rangers.

Specific Ranger Training:

Knowledge: As there is a lack of support and increased personal risk in the line of duty of a Ranger, split-second decisions can mean the difference between operational success and failure much more often than standard Infantry and Pilots. Rangers are expected to consistently display excellent logic in the face of adversity.

Survival and Military: Your character has a high level of survivability in the case they are cut off away from the main force. This includes but is not limited to the creation of shelters, hunting, cooking, trapping, and other essential skills. Your character can also accurately report their findings despite adverse conditions, enemy presence, and technological restrictions. This means that the Ranger must have an excellent memory and be able to identify and approximate the number of enemies in a glance.

Demolitions: Has been given rudimentary instruction in general demolitions use and operation, intended to be able to scuttle equipment in the field if the situation has made remaining in place untenable.
