Standing straight, Dino barely reaches past 6 feet even. He has an athletic and toned body, with visible muscles showing but not too large in size. His smooth tan body weighs in at 172 pounds. His oval shaped face exhibits latino features, which matches his black hair. He keeps his hair in a high and tight buzz cut. Any facial hair to appear on his face will quickly be shaven off, and Dino regular shaves the rest of his body. Numerous tattoos can be seen adorned on his body: the first reads “SPICY” in a bold artistic font found on his lower abdomen; another with the insignia of the Nepleslian Star Navy on his left shoulder; and the last contains the his favorite phrase “FIGHT or FLIGHT” written with an image of a clenched fist with wings, located oh his upper back.

Flying. It was all he ever wanted to do in life. Inspired by stories of his paternal father, he longed to travel star and sky. Dino loves flying. He takes being a pilot very seriously, and is incredibly dedicated to it. In the pilot’s seat, he is focused but maintains a calm outlook.

Besides flying, Dino is relatively mellow. He’s nice to most people, even if he doesn’t particularly like them. Others see him as laid back, and easy to talk to. He’s pretty social, and doesn’t shy away from large groups. Dino tries not to let people get on his nerves, but it does happen. More often than not, he will avoid physical confrontation and will try to talk things out. In particular, Dino loves going out to bars and parties as a social outlet. Alcohol is a longtime friend for him, and hangovers are his worst nightmare. Although he does love his booze, Dino is fully aware of the consequences of intoxication on duty. Losing his piloting license would crush him, so he tries his best to avoid alcohol when on the job.

Perhaps he is most notorious for his flirtatiousness. Ever and always a charmer, he enjoys non-committal and short term relationships. Dino is open with himself, not having any preference in sexuality or gender. He’s just in it for a good time, though he sticks to human-related species. This doesn’t mean Dino hits on everything that breathes, he still has his own taste in people. A quick wink or playful flirt are his first steps to see if someone is interested. When they are, he quickly becomes increasingly lewd and scandalous over the next few weeks. He has no qualms when others break it off with him. Maybe he’ll be pissed for a day or two, but he’d be far from heartbroken. After all, he doesn’t get emotionally attached. To anyone really. True, he may be social and get to know a lot of people, but there’s few he’d call a close friend. Those that do earn his trust, he values highly.

Bernardino Lopez was born in YE 17 in the city of Los Apagos on Planet Nepleslia. His parents were still young when they had him. Dino’s mom Yolanda gave birth to him at nineteen years of age, and his father Tony was only two years older. With only a modest income, the couple decided to keep him as an only child. Dino and his mother would soon lose his father to a gang incident. His dad unfortunately found himself in the middle of a gang war while he was a civilian ship pilot. Dino was six years old when his father passed away.

Coping with the loss of his father would prove difficult. Dino’s mother would have to work extra hours to make up for the income deficit. The boy himself would find it difficult to focus in school. After four years of enduring, Yolanda would find herself remarrying to Manuel Rivera, a man of wealth. Initially, Dino objected the union, but eventually gave in after moving in with Manuel. Seeing his mother at ease persuaded him to let them be. His new stepfather was kind to him, and tried his best to support Dino. The growing boy appreciated his efforts, but their relationship would never evolve into anything more. As he grew up, Dino would grow distant from his parents.

Dino’s teen years were his most rebellious. It was common for him to go out late, go to parties, and drink underage. His mother would scold him, but his stepdad tried to be more relaxed when lecturing him. He managed to keep his grades afloat, but would still indulge in his habits. Dino’s parents were astonished when he admitted that he wanted to fulfil his childhood dream of becoming a pilot like his father. They were even more dumbfounded when he added that he wanted to join the Nepleslian Space Navy. When both of them requested to know why Dino chose the join the military, he revealed that he hated the disorder in Nepleslia. The crime, the chaos, the corruption. He wanted to bring order and justice to his beloved nation. Though hesitant, Dino’s parents ultimately agreed to let him pursue his goals. The agreement did come with terms, such as Dino improving in academics and refraining from staying out late. Shortly after completing school, Dino would start working towards obtaining his piloting license.

Dino is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, ships, ground vehicles, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. He is fluent in Nepleslian. Dino is able to speak and write correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc. He is skilled in field communications and is proficient in all rudimentary forms of communication (hand signals, flashing lights, etc).

Dino received intensive hand-to-hand combat training (primarily focused on disabling and/or killing opponents) and has followed up that knowledge with a rigorous training program. Weapons he is trained in include pistols of all types, knives, grenades (and other forms of explosive weaponry) and rifles of all kinds. He is in excellent physical shape and has considerable endurance. He is also able to pilot land-based power armors, but must rely on the suit’s A.I. to do anything advanced.

Dino knows how to survive in hostile environments. He can build shelters, hunt and forage for food, build a fire, etc. The character can camouflage himself and is familiar with guerrilla warfare tactics.

Dino can understand and give out tactical commands and work with his troop to follow those commands efficiently. He knows the importance of teamwork on the battlefield, has been intensively trained in discipline and morale, and is able to recognize the command structure even while under extreme pressure (combat, etc). He is able to recognize ambush points. He knows basic math in order to calculate distances, etc, and can use a tactical map.

Dino is experienced with handling tools needed for starship maintenance and repair. He is also familiar with the procedures and equipment required.

His childhood dream and lifelong goal. Dino is trained in the operation of Nepleslian starships. He is particularly talented with fighters such as the N-F/A-01 and Na-FA4. Dino excels with anti-fighter tactics and maneuvers, usually employing aggressive and relentless strategies. He is proficient enough to be picked as a pilot for the Na-YF/A-6X(A) “Scythe.”
