The Tula are a species of the Poku Saeruo Degonjo. They are evolutionary cousins to the Qaktoro, and they developed concurrently with them on the same Otâgolisoy (Birth world). During the Norka (The Exodus), the Tula traveled with the Qaktoro to eventually settle the Degonjo Saeruo (Hidden Sun System) alongside them. All Tula are considered part of the Poku Vit (Plant Clan), the only surviving sub-clan of the homeworld's original clan system. Some members of the Tula actually go through the Qaktoro version of the Baqnor (move from youth) and become full clan members.

Their name, Tula, is used both as a singular and plural word, and is pronounced tū-lă. Many of the Tula are employed as Obekâ'ai (Retainers) in the Punlai (Families) and Ruokai (Houses) of the Clan. The Otâmovi Wiy Jael (Silver Moon Sect) also employs many Tula.

The Tula are notable for the ability of many of their number to use Vit'taka (Plant Speech).
