Majors in the Schirmherrschaft are the highest form of command-level officer. In the Landwehr, Majors are often placed in charge of Specialist Regiments or are Chiefs of Staff to higher ranking Field/Flag Officers. In the Luftwaffen, it is common to see Majors in command of either large Wings or small Air / Carrier Groups of strike craft or even in command of Aerial Carriers. In the Kriegsflotte, Majors inevitably command Naval Carriers.
