Kadett has no designated rank insignia.

A Kadett is an Officer-in-Training and is not considered a Commissioned Officer until she graduates from Officer's School and takes an Oath of Commission in front of the Emperor. However, a civilian cannot go straight to an Academy. Unlike the Schirmherrschaft or the Weltraumflotte, any Kadett in Officer's School must have been a Non-Comissioned Officer in the Assault Legion before progressing to Officer's School. This means a potential Officer must have served in the capacity of a Alterhauptlegionaer, Meisterhauptlegionaer, or Befel-legionaer before being accepted into Officer's School.

Once graduation is near, the Kadett is given a bereft rank of Leutnant and placed under the ToO under an experienced Hauptmann for a period of three months before being shipped back to the Officer's School and graduating (or washing out).

Any Kadett that “washes out” is sent back to their old unit at their former NCO rank. This is due to the fact that they just weren't cut out to be an officer, but they are still a highly efficient and trustworthy non-comissioned officer.
