Scientific Studies Service (SSS) recruits the finest people to help it fulfill its mission. As a unique government agency it offering these people a rare opportunity, and provides the following benefits.

All members of the SSS are covered by a 25,000 KS accidental policy for free. Members can increase their coverage by increments of 50,000 KS at a personal cost of 50 KS a month per increment. As members of the government, Soul Transfer technology is available to all members at no cost.

Life insurance premium will be paid only in the event of permanent death.

Members of the SSS assigned to planetary or space station assignments receive subsidized rental housing. The SSS will cover 50% of the rent for an average accommodation appropriate to the member's status. eg: Single personnel will be compensated for a single person apartment. Married personnel will be compensated according to their requirements. A person can opt to live in a better than average accommodation they will have to make up the difference in rent.

Members of the space borne and expeditionary forces, are provided free housing at SSS contracted apartment complexes or space stations.

The SSS operates day care facilities for dependents of employees during their working shift.

Parents are expected to make arrangements for their dependents below the age of 14 if they are being deployed on expeditions. Parents can make their own arrangements or they can have their children stay in sponsored homes. These homes allow the children to continue attending the same school and seeing their friends. It also gives them a sense of belonging as all the other children present are SSS dependents.

Dependents 14 years or older, may travel with their parents as Apprentices provided the Expedition Leader approves the position. Otherwise these dependents can be house in the same fashion as the younger ones.

All members of the SSS and their dependents receive free medical and dental care from SSS operated facilities, and all government run and government-sponsored hospitals.

All hired members in the SSS receive a salary based upon the SSS Pay Grades and Pay Scale.

Members who serve twenty years in the SSS will receive a pension of 65% of their pay at the time of retirement. Members who serve thirty years will receive 100% of their pay.

All members of the SSS and retirees may travel on SSS operated craft on a space available basis.

All members of the SSS may take courses at the Gakuin (Academy) for free if approved by their supervisor. Otherwise they can take them at 50% of the standard rate.

These benefits allow dependents and non-SSS spouses of deceased members to attend the Gakuin (Academy) for an Associate or Bachelor degree for free.
