Shock Band

The Shock band was the brainchild of a bored Novacorp worker who had bought himself a slap-on bracelet from an ice cream vendor which had a bit of advertising on it.

He put it up on his desk, and pressed his finger down in the middle it, and it snapped shut into a cylinder. He unfolded it, then pressed his finger on the far left side. As expected, it snapped shut. He then began jotting down a few rough notes and ideas. Eventually, he ended up with these little monsters on his drawing board:

Civilian Edition

Visual Description: A 25 centimetre long, 4 cm wide and 0.3 thick piece of plastic with fabric on one side. If pressed down in a particular area, it contorts itself into a tight cylinder 7 centimetres in diameter. The plastic and fabric comes in a variety of colours. Method of attack: As the Shockband is pressed into a cylinder, it releases a shock of 9 volts, 0.1 amps. This reportedly feels like putting a battery on your tongue for a moment. How to Recharge: There are a few ways to recharge this Shockband.

  1. Place the band fabric side down and run your hand along the plastic repeatedly, building heat and friction which will recharge the flexible battery inside. This usually takes about a minute.
  2. Get a “Shockband Charge Plate” (Included with a kit of 6 or 12) and place it fabric side down for a few seconds.
  3. Leave it for a few hours and it'll regain its charge.

Warning Label: “Do not use if you are experiencing heart problems or Pregnant. Keep out of reach of 3 year olds. It is also inadvisable to apply directly to the forehead.”

Military Edition

Visual Description: A 25 centimetre long, 4 cm wide and 0.3 thick piece of plastic with fabric on one side. If pressed down in a particular area, it contorts itself into a tight cylinder 7 centimetres in diameter. The plastic comes in a Navy Blue and the fabric is usually black. Method of attack: As the Shockband is pressed into a cylinder, it releases a shock of 10,000 volts, 2 amps. This reportedly feels like “wiring a car battery to your nuts and flooring the gas pedal.” How to Recharge: Get a “Shockband Charge Plate” and place it fabric side down for a few minutes. It cannot regain its charge naturally, and it is inadvisable to use the friction method. Notes:** These are usually stored in a Plastic or Non-conductive metal box in groups of 60. Warning Label: “DANGER - Extremely High Voltage. Keep out of reach of children and untrained personnel.”
