Apollo Heavy Industries is a company owned by Anslen Volontany through the Volontany Group. It is one of the largest companies in Essia System and has significant assets and sales outside of the system as well. It is headquartered in Apollo on Essia.

After serving in a small local war as an armorer and blacksmith, Anslen Volontany took up his father's blacksmithing trade in YE 01. Seeing the rapid technological changes happening during the war, he sought to take advantages of them. He was pioneering large scale manufacturing. After first contact with Yamatai and the disappearance of his youngest daughter, he took a tour of Yamatai. He was very impressed with their improvements and manufacturing processes. Returning home, he sought to take as much advantage of the technology and had a first mover advantage. With Essia's rapid adoption and assimilation of Yamataian technology, he was a leader.

Apollo Heavy Industries has diversified its offerings over time from large scale smithing to power plants, ships, and more.
