Activated Self-Sustaining Infusion Environment

The Activated Self-Sustaining Infusion Environment Pathway (ASIEP) Combines the Norian's advanced understanding of bioengineering, femtotechnology, and Leviathan Technology, ASIEP provides a seamless, self-sustaining environment optimized for long-term habitation on United Norian Navy vessels and other facilities. The latest version of this design was put into production by Lux Aurora in YE 44.

History

Development of the first ASIEP System occurred in YE 27 when the first biologically engineered Leviathans were being produced. The system at first was limited and only preformed the duties of atmospheric scrubbing and waste management. In YE 44, when the first 10th Generation hybridized vessels and structures began production, Lux Aurora spent months developing the current system which has proven more effective and multifunctional.

Function and Design

The heart of the ASIEP system is a gel-like biomaterial derived from biosynthetically engineered Leviathan cells.1) Unlike a fully grown Leviathan Husk, this material exists in a flexible, gel state optimized for adaptability and functionality. With the use of femtomachines this dynamic cellular matrix is capable of responding to environmental feedback, and adjusting its own biochemical pathways to adapt to certain contaminants or changes in the environment.

The gel is distributed through a secondary circulatory network in the vesselโ€™s insulation membrane. It flows through both Leviathan and Inner Hull Layers. This ensures even distribution and maximum coverage for atmospheric scrubbing, thermal regulation, and waste processing. Organic waste and Water are processed in dedicated vacuole-like tanks.

Control and Regulation

Control and regulation is maintained in real-time using LUMEN's quantum processing and interface with the Mindhives. Regulation and control directives are regularly downloaded to the femtomachines in the network. LUMEN monitors atmospheric composition, temperature, waste levels, and system health, analyzing trillions of variables per second for real-time optimization. By analyzing crew behavior, environmental conditions, and system trends, the LUMEN in cooperation with the Mindhives predicts potential issues (e.g., contamination spikes, waste buildup) and proactively adjusts the system. Due to the bond between crew and the Mindhives, it can adjust some variables to address the needs of individual crew members.

Atmospheric Scrubbing

ASIEP ensures a safe and breathable environment by employing the gel and femtomachines to achieve molecular-level gas exchange, converting carbon dioxide into oxygen-compatible compounds with exceptional precision. The system neutralizes airborne contaminants like VOCs, pathogens, and allergens using targeted nanomechanical processes, maintaining a sterile atmosphere. With real-time air quality feedback from LUMEN and the Mindhives , the gel dynamically adapts its filtration capabilities to meet the changing needs of the crew and environment.

Temperature Regulation

Through the thermoregulatory properties of the Leviathan gel, ASIEP maintains a stable internal temperature by modulating thermal conductivity with the femtomachines for precise control. The system efficiently creates localized cooling zones in high-demand areas, reducing energy consumption while enhancing comfort. This adaptability ensures optimal thermal regulation for both equipment and crew, even under varying environmental conditions.

Waste Processing and Resource Recovery

ASIEP transforms waste into usable resources using nanomechanical decomposition to break down organic and inorganic materials into base elements for resource recovery. Its integrated Ionic Transfer Matrix System converts waste byproducts into high-density energy precursors, feeding them back into the vesselโ€™s power grid or the dedicated fabrication modules. Remaining materials are vaporized in a plasma vitrification chamber, leaving inert residues that are safely expelled, ensuring a closed-loop system with minimal external inputs.

Dedicated Fabrication Modules

Fabrication modules are integrated into the ASIEP with connections to the Ionic Transfer Matrix System which utilizes energy to matter conversion, and use of broken down filtered materials to create things like water and atmosphere, that are then are distributed throughout the ship through conventional ventilation and plumbing systems.

Maintenance

Maintenance involves cleansing the circulatory system and vacuole tanks that the gel flows through with sterile saline which is then flushed into space.
