Build and Skin Color: Shino has a somewhat average build for a Minkan. He is well muscled thanks to his work out regimen, though he is not cut. Shino has slightly broader shoulders than most Minkans. His skin his white.

Eyes and Facial Features: Shino's eyes are between almond-shaped and round, and have a deep, chestnut color. His face narrows slightly as it reaches his jaw, and his jawline is pronounced.

Ears: Shino's ears are elf-style, tapering to a small point near the top. They are the same color as his skin.

Hair Color and Style: Shino has black crew cut hair that he keeps rather short. He is clean shaven, though stubble often comes through.

Distinguishing Features: Shino has no distinguishing features to speak of.

Personality: Shino is confident, if a bit arrogant, though he has learned the hard way to keep that under control. He is not a hot headed person, and would much prefer to talk his way out of a fight than have trade blows. This does not mean he will not resort to violence, and has been known to use this in various situations. Shino respects his fellow service men and women, and he feels like they are the few people who actually deserve his respect. He has issues with being talked down to, but will stifle any grumblings if the one who talked down to him was a superior. He enjoys being among the stars, and Shino has always wished to explore. He sees the Star Army of Yamatai as an excellent opportunity for that.

Naramatsu Kaido (Father) Naramatsu Ishina (Mother) 

Shino was born in YE 11 as a Geshrin, and had a normal childhood. He attended a good school, and had a decent amount of friends. He always, however, dreamed of exploring all that the universe had to offer. He at first wanted to join the government to do some galactic surveying, but eventually thought there was too much thinking involved and too much aristocracy, so he set his heart on the SAoY. The prospect of traveling the stars was enchanting to him, and he planned to join up as soon as he could. However, he was arrested for wrongful appropriation at age 18, and spent three years in prison. After being released, Shino thought it wise to build his reputation back up before joining the military. He did work for small organizations, specifically helping to organize these groups for various civil works projects. In YE 33 he upgraded to the NH-31 Minkan body type. Three years after his release from prison, Shino joined up with the Star Army of Yamatai.

Shino is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other people through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. Shino is fluent in Yamataian and Nepleslian. He can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc.

Shino received hand-to-hand combat training, followed up with a rigorous training program. He is skilled and experienced in combat both in Yamatai-like conditions and in zero-gravity, with and without weapons. Weapons Shino is trained in include energy pistols, knives, and power armor.

Shino is capable of operating any computer system that uses the Kessaku OS, found on all Star Army starships. He is proficient in entering and/or searching for information.

Shino received basic mathematics training, to including up to algebra and trigonometry. He can solve various ratios and proportions as well.

While he was in prison, Shino learned various techniques useful for that environment. He learned how to pickpocket, talk his way out of a fight, and how to improvise weapons from simple, common materials.

Shino maintains a standard workout regimen designed to keep him in peak physical health. He can lifts weights that are equivalent to a wounded squadmate, run long distances in gear, and maintain sufficient balance when in full gear.

The jobs that Shino did after prison to rebuild his reputation dealt with organizing small groups to perform various civil works projects. Shino can speak confidently in public to small groups, he can organize and give out instructions in an intelligible manner, and he debate and negotiate in an effective manner.
