Personality: Dar'tagnan is generally easy going. He lives by a personal code of protecting people. He enjoys group activities, and has a good sense of humor.

Dar'tagnan was born to a upper middle class My'leke family in the city of We'mena. He has fond memories of his father from when he was very young. His father served in the Shukara Volunteer Navy. He was killed when Dar' was five years old when a reactor malfunction caused his ship to explode with all hands lost.

Dar' wanted to emulate his father so he adopted a very simple code of conduct as a youngster. Part of that code was to protect the younger and weaker. This meant that Dar' had a tendency to charge into fights against other students who were bullying classmates. This was how he came to meet Elza'beth. After saving her from one bully, Dar' appointed himself as her protector, and friend. Dar' would tend to encourage Elza' to try new things, be it food, activities etc. Their families also started to spend time together.

However it was shortly after he entered I'oshen that his life would change. A terrorist attack struck during a school trip. Dar' was not injured seriously by luck, and proceeded to help in locating and rescuing his classmates. He came upon several who were dead, including Elza's mother Adela. It was shortly after that he found his best friend lying under rubble. He carefully extricated her and got her to medical personnel.

When he learned about the extent of Elza's injuries, he spent all his free time with her. Visiting her in the hospital, reading to her and bringing her homework so she could keep up. Dar' asked his mother to help pay for her implant and goggles.

Dar' continued spending all of his time with Elza' and found himself looking for reasons to spend time with her. While in Jui'ashen, he asked Elza to participate in the Rite of Honour with her. After completing the ritual he chose to enlist, and Elza' did too in a civilian capacity.

• Technology Operation: Required for My'leke due to their biological tail and its ability to control technology.
• Fighting: All Neshaten, Myleke and Shukaren alike, are taught hand-to-hand combat. However, given their culture, most already know both hand-to-hand and weapons training before they even enter the military. Fighting requires to the use of Martial Arts, Swordsmenship, and Archery.
• Knowledge: Because of how important history is, but also in order to curb the racial problems that would naturally exist in their culture, all Neshaten are taught about their past and what lead up to them having to colonize a new world but also about their allies the My'leke or the Shukaren. This is also related to law as well, where-as a soldier must know their Kingdoms laws so they can enforce them when needed.
• Survival: The art of surviving in battle and addressing the wounds that a soldier may take is an important skill that they must not only learn but also perfect.
• Navigation: Land navigation is important, as it helps the marine know where he or she is.
• Painting: Dar'tagnan is trained as a painter, he can mix his own colors, and prefers painting portraits, and action scenes.
