Build and Skin Color: For a Nepleslian, Jed is uncharacteristically pale and gaunt, resulting from a violent and self destructive lifestyle. Despite his skeletal frame however, Jed is surprisingly well toned, but obviously malnourished.

Facial Features and Eye Color: Hazel eyed, Jed has a determined and fixated look about him. He has strong cheekbones, though whether these are his natural facial features or a result of malnourishment only a healthy diet and time will answer.

Hair Color and Style: His hair is short and not well kept, Jed is the kind of person too overcome with paranoia to care how he looks, this is a man who cares little for what people think of him, and more what they will do to him.

Distinguishing Features: Part of Jed's left ear has been violently damaged, and he scratches it often. A slight dent on the bridge of his nose is also visible as a result of it being broken several times.

Personality: Jed, although something of a survivalist, suffers from a number of crippling psychological problems, such as paranoia, anxiety and intensely visual nightmares. Although a destructive personality, he has until now been able to conceal his problems from the rest of the world, particularly his fellow enlisters and CO. Jed has mastered the art of blending in, but as time passed by maintaining this social camouflage has become a much more difficult task. An unlikely outlet for emotional healing, Jed turned to the marines to bring structure and order to his life, and perhaps also to vent his violent nature in such a way that would be celebrated and not demonised. Jed, although clearly damaged, has on rare occasions shown potential for real emotional healing. While in the past he would avoid what he considered 'uncomfortable' encounters with other individuals, his training with the marines has forced him into brutal situations that called for nothing less than full cooperation with his unit. Once a crippling social retardation, Jed's isolationism and lowly ambitions have ironically developed into vastly superior team working skills. Jed, unlike many others, is happy to be nothing more than a cog in the machine. What's more, though he may not realise it himself Jed thrives on complete submission, a trait that has expanded subtly into his sexual fantasies.

Likes: Writing, he looks to his journal as an outlet for his frustration, and writes in it in a way he wishes he could express to others. Dislikes: A paranoid individual, Jed's worst and perhaps most misguided fear is that he is being plotted against by those around him. Goals: Jed although young has led a troubled life, and now he is on a journey of healing. In time he hopes to achieve a sense of peace.

Rejected by a culture that market's clones as the perfect child for the perfect family, Jed a troubled youth was abandoned early into his childhood. Taken in by a number of foster families, his unstable and self destructive nature led him to sabotage any genuine emotional connection he ever made. As years passed by and Jed grew out of adolescence and into manhood, he finally isolated himself completely after a violent altercation with his foster father at the time; Brendan Tor, left both men badly bloodied and beaten. Leaving his former life behind, Jed turned to a rough life on the streets, but although a man on the outside, Jed still looked at life through the eyes of an unwanted child, and in time would suffer scars that cut far deeper than flesh.

• Birth Mother: Abandoned at a young age, Jed knows nothing of his birth mother, even whether it was partly her decision to abandon him.
• Birth Father: Jed knows only that it was his father that left him at the orphanage, an event that Jed relives in a myriad of twisted nightmares.
• Foster Mother: Elissa Tor; a kind but naive woman, Jed often mistook her kindness as a form of control, and never formed any real bond with her.
• Foster Father: Brendan Tor; the closest thing Jed ever had to a father, though they fought often, Jed still uses his surname to this day.

YE 29:

• Jed, a damaged and lonely individual, enlists as a marine of the Nepleslian Star Army.

Jed is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, ships, ground vehicles, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. He is fluent in Nepleslian. He can speak and write it correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc. He is skilled in field communications and is proficient in all rudimentary forms of communication (hand signals, flashing lights, etc).

Jed received intensive hand-to-hand combat training (primarily focused on disabling and/or killing opponents) and has followed up that knowledge with a rigorous training program. Weapons he is trained in include pistols of all types, knives, grenades (and other forms of explosive weaponry) and rifles of all kinds. He is also able to pilot land-based power armors, but must rely on the suit’s A.I. to do anything advanced.

Jed knows how to survive in hostile environments. He can build shelters, hunt and forage for food, build a fire, etc. He can camouflage himself and is familiar with guerrilla warfare tactics.

He can understand and give out tactical commands and work with his troop to follow those commands efficiently. He knows the importance of teamwork on the battlefield, has been intensively trained in discipline and morale, and is able to recognize the command structure even while under extreme pressure (combat, etc). He is able to recognize ambush points. He knows basic math in order to calculate distances, etc, and can use a tactical map.

Jed can identify, manufacture, handle and dispose of explosives. With the proper tools, he can detect and disarm enemy explosives as well.

Jed is familiar with how to effectively pilot most ground vehicles. He can make rudimentary repairs to his vehicle. In addition, he has one vehicle type in which he is particularly skilled at operating. While inside this vehicle, the character can perform difficult maneuvers under high stress (combat, etc). The character is also proficient in repairing this type of vehicle (if given the proper tools and time).

Jed is familiar with and able to fix most problems with vehicle components and to an extent, systems. While not necessarily well-versed on how a part functions and the theory behind each, he will be able to keep things operating within normal parameters.

Jed Tor is currently a Private 3rd Class in the Nepleslian Star Army. He receives a weekly salary of 50DA per week.

I'm taking an “as it comes” approach to the history of my character. I don't wont to go overboard with a detailed backstory, but instead i want to build his history up through roleplay, and then summarise it here, perhaps with references to the threads in question.
