Build and Skin Colour: Chikako has a lean physique, that while lithe and lightweight in construction, could not easily be mistaken for fragile, with toned arms and legs and a faint hint of muscle on her abdomen. Her skin has a faint tan, of the sort expected from an islander who doesn't spend all of her time in the sun.

Facial Features and Eye Colour: Chikako has very slender and expressive face, boasting a sort of natural beauty and energy. It seems to be wholly incapable of disguising her feelings on any matter, and has a tendency to be furled into a perpetual frown or look of exasperation. She has almond-shaped eyes with navy blue (HEX #191970) irises.

Hair Colour and Style: Chikako has back-length long silky-smooth black hair with deep red tips, with a gentle fade effect starting at about an 4rth of the way from the bottom. Regardless of length she wears it in, this color effect seems to carry itself over in proportion to length. She typically wears it unstyled or tied into a bun during sorties.

Distinguishing Features: Aside from the properties of her hair, Chikako tends to wear a bandanna with her duty uniform unzipped and down around her waist whenever she's off duty. Like all Nekovalkyrja, she has the typical cat-like ears, with a small covering of black fuzz with tuffs of red at the points, and a series of pink dots running down the center of her back that indicate her SPINE Interface.

Personality: Impulsive and direct in her approach to life, Chikako is not one to mince words, play mind games or attempt to deliver subtext. She is concise and precise in her language, perhaps to the point of being curt, and reliable in the manner of being tactless, therefore completely honest. A devoted cynic, she is difficult to fool or trick most of the time, and tends to view everything in a slightly skewed manner. While not a whimsical person, when it becomes obvious that something isn't going to work, she is quick to move on and try another option.

In a social setting, Chikako is generally alright company, though conversing with her might be difficult as she lacks any sort of tact and will speak her mind on any given issue. She rarely hides her feelings, but the deadpan delivery she uses when exposing them may catch the people involved off guard.

Chikako's combat ideology is highly similar to her social graces, being fast, direct and quick to abandon any given approach that is shown to not work in the given situation. She rarely bothers to aim most of the time, preferring to point in the general direction of the enemy and allow the armor's computer to do all of the precision work, and prefers the use of high speed blitz and flanking tactics, and may display the undesirable tendency to break formation the moment she is able to recognize the enemy.

Likes: Camaraderie, people with few inhibitions, the smell of metal, efficient and functional machines, napping, pears, automatic weapons. Dislikes: Being needlessly praised, soldiers who act like children, relying on other people for too much of anything. Goals: Become an ace armor pilot, see the universe, find a place where she belongs.

The only daughter of a Neko who served her full term in the military and retired to a position in logistics, Chikako was a rare sort of person. A civilian neko, who by choice had decided to enlist, in spite of the freedom her mother had earned for herself and her child. Despite the freedom and relative luxury offered to her as a full citizen of the Empire, she felt that most of the things she did were empty and lacked meaning, and so decided to wander to find some kind of meaning for herself.

Chikako found it when the world she was visiting Hoshi no Iori at the time of the cataclysmic battle in which trillions of her fellow Neko died defending the superstructure. It was at this moment, realizing that many of those people had died only knowing combat and camaraderie, that she felt a profound desire to understand what was it that they were living for. Having lived in the empire for nearly a year, she knew what they were fighting for, but did they? Feeling somewhat indebted and wishing to understand her fellow Neko, Chikako enlisted as an infantrywoman. She felt that she could be a better soldier with a sense of purpose if it was something that she had decided for herself, rather than something that she was simply born into.

At the end of her first year of life, she was assigned as a Mindy pilot and served in several border skirmishes with small Mishhu scout detachments, and on occasion, the odd band of raiders. Her superiors lauded her skill and use of tactics in the battlefield, but could not promote her to a position of command due to her consistent lack of leadership among her fellow Neko. While skillful and efficient, she would rarely assist downed comrades, and lacked the graces to keep in contact with her squad on many occasions. After several reprimands by her superior, she was eventually reassigned to the YSS Senbu captained by Shizuka Endo, a growing star in the First Expeditionary Fleet, though whether as a gift or challenge for the young captain has yet to be determined.

Chikako has received extensive hand to hand training, and passes basic qualifications with energy and solid-ammunition pistols, rifles and sub-machine guns. She is highly skilled in the use of powered armor, though her unassisted aiming abilities in armor are somewhat underdeveloped. She is also somewhat dangerous and unpredictable in hand to hand, having a nasty habit of using tools and miscellany such as wrenches, crowbars, bottles, stools and anything generally in reach as weapons.

Out of a desire to be self-sufficient in all aspects of her life in the military (with the possible exception of food), Chikako took numerous courses in maintenance and retrofitting between assignments to improve the quality of her equipment layouts and be able to maintain her unit herself. She is able to keep the systems of most pre-YE 30 powered armor within functional parameters, and is highly proficient in maintaining the Ke-M2-2a Mindy II unit, which she has had the most experience with.

As well, she has generally tried to design new subsystems and weaponry for her unit, but has not produced anything particularly viable yet. While familiar with many concepts of Yamataian technology and able to apply them to new designs, she has not really found a situation where she would really need to design something new.

As well as being fully fluent in Yamataian and Nepleslian, Chikako is competent in radio operation and procedures and can make to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, starship communications panels, powered armor and the equipment found on shuttles and fighter craft.

Chikako has receive courses in mathematics up to algebra and trigonometry. In a more practical manner, she has trained herself to be able to accurately gauge small and medium distances using only her eyes, without digital assistance.

Chikako is capable of operating any computer system that uses the Kessaku OS, found on all Star Army starships. She is proficient in entering and/or searching for information.

During her short time as a civilian, Chikako spent a lot of time on airbikes and certain land vehicles. As an enlisted person, she filed for training to operate shuttlecraft, and has sufficiently high skill to pass qualifications to operate a shuttle.

Something of an oddity, Chikako practices Parkour, a combination of acrobatics and running as an unusual pastime, and applies her acrobatic skill in parlor tricks and feats of agility. Her use of gravity manipulation allows her to remain upright even when her balance is off, and rarely suffer injuries from falls when she misses a jump.
