Also referred to as a “Deck Vest” or “HVV” a Type 44 High Visibility Vest is a uniform item approved to be worn by Star Army personnel in situations where safety and efficiency requires that they or their skillset are easily identified at a glance. It is intended to be worn over other approved Class B or C uniforms or a wide variety of protective suits. The Deck Vest is issued in the same color as the soldier’s MOS panel and includes strips of reflective material that still identify the soldier's MOS in the dark. Deck Vests are often stamped with more specific information on the back such as but not limited to: names, unit, specific deck team position, or approved moral decals.
