Mounted with a sizeable aether battery and electronics package similar to a Ke-V8-E3202 Decoy the Electronic Broadcast module allows the mounted VCMAD to simulate the sensor signatures of a wide variety of small aerospace targets from fighters and shuttles to incoming cruise missiles. The purpose of the Bait mission module is to cause hidden (usually ground based) anti air defense systems to targeting them with their sensors allowing more sensitive detection equipment such as the Whisper mission module to locate the source of the emissions for targeting and destruction. Similar tactics using manned or unmanned fighters have been utilized since the days of jet powered dog fighters often under names such as screaming weasel.¹⁾
