Abwehran Encyclopedia of Entertainment

All societies need to unwind from the daily grind and Abwehrans are no different in this respect from other societies in the galaxy. Entertainment varies greatly in the Abwehran Star Empire though. With a wide variety of physical and media recreation, it's hard for an Abwehran to be bored.
Media
Entertainment based on a Medium.
Games
Forms of entertainment with rules involving some form of medium (board, flags, etc).

| Irm Stikleng1) | A game that is not unlike Arm wrestling, only it utilizes three arms instead of just one. The players start off with one of their lower arms set up like in a classical Arm Wrestling position while the players use their two upper arms to either keep the opposing player from helping their lower arm or to help their own lower arm. The game is ended when one of the lower arms has been pinned by the other player. |
| Kosmoskrieg | A recently created game, Kosmoskrieg revolves the creation and paint of figurines that are then used to play the game. With a variety of armies to chose from, players use six-sided dice to move and attack with each figurine. There is some controversy with that game because many of the Army choices seem to mimic real militaries in the known galaxy. |
| Pirates and Marines | A children's game, Pirates and Marines involves a single person starting out as the Marine and the rest are Pirates. Each Pirate slips a red handkerchief into their waistband and must evade the Marine. The Marine must take the handkerchief off of the Pirate, whom will then become a Marine. The last Pirate left wins and becomes the Marine in the next round. |

Of course, since there is no evidence on the civilization before the Great Conflict, the stories are filled with fantastical things of god pantheons, epic sword-wielding heroes, and evil magicians. The series currently has several novels that have been considered Best Hits and several spin offs. |
| Elisa Rosenthal - Memoirs of Change | An autobiography of the first Empress of the Abwehran Star Empire, it has not only been a favorite of avid Imperialists and Cultists, but also required reading for both government and history classes in secondary education. |
| Stellar Wolves series | A series of documentary novels on the HMS Dauntless' Marine Company and their adventures. While some events are exaggerated for entertainment, the vast majority of the facts are true. |

| Oskar von Straden | A composer from the After Conflict Era, Von Straden's compositions are said to be the epitome of Abwehran Classical music. Many of his compositions are heavy in both percussion and brass instruments, but he has composed a few orchestral pieces using strings and woodwinds. |

| Kosmoskrieg Online | An Online First-Person Shooter game based upon the Kosmoskrieg Figurine Game, players can pick from a variety of classes in each Army and work together over the Planetary Net to compete in co-operative mission based games or free-for-all games. |
| Before Time Online | A Massively Mutliplayer Online Roleplaying Game based on the popular fantasy series, Before Time Online is a Pay-per-Month game. |

| Elisa | A Historical Dramatization of the First Empress' rise to power and war against the evil, fascist, Verdienstorden. It is a feature-length movie of nearly three hours. |
| Fearless | A military drama involving the Weltraumflotte Expansion of the galaxy, the show is set in the HMS Fearless. However, it doesn't use any of the original crew as characters or any of the ship's previous adventures. Instead, it places a new crew and tells of a lone Kretor Scout sliding into a wormhole and becoming lost in an unexplored part of the galaxy. With no other way back home, the Fearless must journey the great expanse between it and its home world. |
| Siegfried's Forest | A children's series involving an Abwehran girl named Belinda and her animal friends. Each episode has a moral that teaches children the basic ideals of Abwehran society. |
Sports
Physical activity in the form of recreation.
Competitive
Whether played in a team or as an individual, competitive sports are formed by rules in order to make things fair.

| Gravball | Yes | While it is usually a main attraction only to Nightwalkers, Gravball has recently started to grow on the Surfacers (mainly because their subterranean brethren won't shut up about it.) The game involves two teams of six in a spherical playing field containing in a Zero-G environment with a goal for each team that orbits around the central point in a random fashion. The objective of the game is simply to get the ball into the other team's goal. It is divided up into four rounds of play, each lasting twenty minutes in length. Players are equipped with padding to protect themselves against the speeds possible in the arena while emergency systems and services are capable of preventing injuries. Even so, Gravball can be quite a bloody sport with a rather short career time for players (average career length is 10 Abwehran Years (35 standard years.) |

While not exactly a sport, Dance is a physical activity done with music for recreational purposes.

| Blitzstahl | ??? | A sword dueling style revolving around small blades, the Blitzstahl is the most common style for First Blood Duels. This is mainly because of its usage of quick, shallow slashes and sharp parries. |
| Panzer Faust | Abwehran Armed Forces (AAF) | The standard Close Quarters Combat (CQC) style for the Abwehran Armed Forces, Panzar Faust was created to give soldiers the training necessary to handle themselves against armed opponents. Many variants of Panzar Faust have been adapted for Powered Armor usage as well. |
