Belts are very popular clothing and equipment items in the SARPiverse, both as part of clothing outfits and for holding weapons, tools, and equipment. There are a variety of detailed belt types available. Each type typically has multiple variants, each with a different function, appearance, and performance.

The Star Army adopted jet black or dark gray belts for its uniforms since it was created in YE 21, typically with a rectangular brass buckle. These have become part of the distinctive look of Star Army Uniforms.

Belts are made of some strong material like leather or synthetic ballistic fabric weaves. Some belts are also woven to prevent fraying, to resist damage, or to keep the leather in shape better. Most belts have a buckle of some sort to hold the belt closed. They may have some fastening mechanism such as a pin that goes through holes, a buckle that uses friction, or a clasp or snap. Some belts are designed for holding weapons. A holster belt is a belt that is designed specifically for holding your equipment, and has features to fit that equipment. Utility belts typically have a set of pouches attached for carrying small accessories.

Belts generally are worn in one of two ways:

• They are worn inside the belt loops of Pants (Trousers) to keep the pants on securely
• They are worn outside of the clothing for the purpose of carrying equipment (e.g. pistol belts, tool belts, and utility belts)
