VCE Training is an experiential training method using the Virtual Collective Experience. It became available in YE 37.

VCE Training allows non-digital minds to acquire knowledge and skills electronically. It can be used by digital minds as well, but most of those have other means available. The concept is integral for many of the landscapes, with information given to the user in order to properly interact or use items in the landscape.

Originally intended for sharing information in the VCE between the system and the user, or between users, it did not take long to realize it had potential outside the VCE.

Skills that require physical conditioning, or muscle memory can be acquired and used immediately in VCE. However, the person must physically practice and workout to use the skills in the physical world.

Training comes in a variety of forms. It can be simple data, eg: maps of an area, or steps of a procedure. Or training can be more complex, involving physical and mental components. eg acrobatics, or driving.

During development it was found that some forms of skill training, typically sharing skills from one person to another would include some personal aspects. Most of the aspects are subconscious For this reason a system was put in place to show the quality of the training. As with other aspects of VCE, a user can choose to use a VCE controlled landscape for training, or they can choose to use or setup a private one of their own.

Skills in this category are purely data with no personal experience. Examples are: maps of a region, the layout of a building or ship, or procedures. These are normally data files or data forms as an observer. For example a book that shows martial arts moves. While useful for many things, obviously these do not provide skill training.

VCE scrubbed skills are certified to be free of emotional and physiological aspects. A person can choose to learn a dance, but they will not experience any of the other sensations that the donor had at the time. Only VCE Certified skills are provided with no consent form required. VCE Certified skills for real world application are a fee based offering. VCE Certified skills are available at a lower price through Corporate run Landscapes. Private landscapes can access them but with a 10% transfer fee per download.

VCE facilities always require user consent forms to accept a 'dirty skill package'. These skills are normally done by private individuals, they typically still contain some if not all of the emotional and physical aspects. They can also sometimes come with other personal subconscious mannerisms or other quirks.

Of course private facilities operate according to their own agenda and may or may not require a consent form.

With the release of VCE Training, a new lucrative business venture has been added that of acquiring skills. The company pays donors for each skill and the greater the skill the higher the compensation.
