Working in space is no exception; the Model 44 Crew Galley serves to keep the very real threat of starvation at bay. While the food is not the most appetizing, it does serve to keep the soldiers fed, and after a long day, a hot meal is always appreciated. What is unusual about the galley is that Officers usually take their meals in their quarters, or eat with the crew is usually to keep morale up, but more likely than not it's to save on space instead of giving them a dedicated dining room.

Oddly enough, the Galley also pulls double duty as a gym, with tables being collapsible and the Kitchen area can be sealed off via an armored shutter to prevent mishaps or more likely, theft.

The Model 44 Crew Dual Purpose Crew Galley, like all Standardized Components is little more than a metal box with whatever amenities are required and is scalable to the ship's needs; in this role, it works as both a gym and a galley-with the tables and benches being collapsible. The exercise equipment consists of free weights, and collapsible machines such as leg-lifters, treadmills, etc;, enabling yeomen to conduct proper exercises outside of the mess hours. The Cooking area, usually towards the back consists of several stoves with ovens, usually electric or gas fired, pantries, refrigeration, and freezer units for food storage, and a distillery for alcohol production with everything working to spec the first time-likely to avoid mutinies.
