Build and Skin color: Slim and slightly slender, making him look a little feminine. He has a slight pale complexion.

Facial Features and Eye color: Kien has a very gentle face and big blue eyes. At first glance, he could almost pass for a woman.

Hair color and Style: Black hair that looks a little untamed. His bangs are long enough to cover his eyes.

Distinguishing Features: When Kien is in deep thought, he has a habit of holding his right hand up to his mouth as if he was holding a microphone.

Personality: According to his mother, Kien is a lot like his father. Kien has a strong sense of justice and chivalry as a soldier. He is a very dependable fighter and is always there to give a helping hand to his comrades. He is also not afraid to speak and act his mind out if he is strongly against something, even if it comes from a commanding officer. As a person, Kien is as strong willed with an even stronger gentle side to him. During his free time, Kien is usually seen singing, eating cake, or doing something that involves his family like talking to them on the phone or buying something to send to his mother and sister.

Son of Haseo Kicho, former Chusa of the Star Army. Haseo was a well respected officer and Power Armor Pilot, being one of the best in the Yamatai Region. At the Uprising of the Second Elysian War, Haseo sacrificed his life in a brutal battle in order to save his comrades. Haseo left behind his wife Oichi, his son Kien, and eight months after his death his daughter Rin. At first, both Kien and Oichi took Haseo's death hard. It seemed as if their lives wouldn't get any better until Oichi found out that she was pregnant. Since then, Kien soon matured and became the man of the house. With the passage of time, Kien's family was able to place the broken pieces back together. Kien began to rise as an aspiring singer, Oichi balanced her work and her life so she could spend as much time with her children as she could, and Rin did what she could to help out. To help support his family and to become more like his father, Kien joined the Star Army as early as possible. With a lot of hard work, Kien worked his way to become a Power Armor Pilot giving Kien an even deeper connection to his father.

Communication: Kien is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. Kien is fluent in English, and partial in Japanese (All of Kien's songs are in Japanese). He can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc.

Fighting: Kien received hand-to-hand combat training, followed up with a rigorous training program. He is skilled and experienced in combat both in Yamatai-like conditions and in zero-gravity, with and without weapons. Weapons he is trained in include energy pistols, knives, and power armor.

Technology Operation: Kien is capable of operating any computer system that uses the Kessaku OS, found on all Star Army starships. He is proficient in entering and/or searching for information.

Mathematics: Kien received basic mathematics training, to including up to algebra and trigonometry.

Physical: In addition to fighting, Kien trained his body even further. Taking courses in acrobatics, track & field, and weight lifting, Kien trained hard to increase his agility, speed, and strength.

Maintenance and Repair: As a Power Armor Pilot, Kien studied in the use and mechanics of the Power Armor. He is capable of maintaning, customizing and repairing his Power Armor mostly by himself.

Entertainment: As a child, Kien enjoyed singing because it was something that always brought a smile to his mother's face. Since then, he has always practiced and competed in singing every posible chance. Because of his singing, Kien is semi-famous in the Yamatai region.
