Build and Skin Color: Krystian does not seem to match the stereotype of a Nepleslian Marine, looking more athletically fit and toned, then muscular and buff. He has the body of a runner and a swimmer, as opposed to a weight-lifting enthusiast. His skin-tone is almost mocha-like in a color that tans well under the sun and his complexion is rather smooth with a relatively unblemished face or arms.
Eyes and Facial Features: Krystian's eyes are a strange part of him: seemingly always squinting, a sharp gray in color, seeming to stare at everywhere, yet looking straight in to the eyes of whoever might be looking at him, and are placed close to the flanks of his sharply shaped nose. His facial features are slim and pointed, with a smooth jaw that sports only the lightest signs of a chin-strap beard. Across his right cheek is the most minor of scars, hardly noticeable, and merely an inch or two below his eye.
Ears: Krystian has perfectly normal and non-descript ears. They aren't too big, they aren't too small, they aren't particularly unique, and the only thing noticeable about them is the metal stud piercing in his right ear.
Hair Color and Style: His hair is raven-black in color, and almost impossibly straight. He doesn't do much with it, such as hair dye, or exotic styles. Instead, he keeps it tucked back in a rather utilitarian ponytail that barely graces the base of his neck.
Distinguishing Features: On his outer right forearm is a tattoo with an arrow from the text that stops on the back of his hand, just short of the first knuckle on his trigger finger:
“I carry out my orders. No regrets.”
On his outer left forearm is the tattoo:
“No explanation. Just one declaration.”
Besides this, most of his distinguishing physical features are hard to see most of the time. His left leg, for one. In its entirety, due to a car accident years ago, is entirely cybernetic from the hip down, and is designed to be similar in color to his natural skin. In the other thigh of that leg is a slot sizeable enough to fit a standard-issue NSMC combat knife. Along with this, he sports a rather nasty-looking scar on his chest: where the debris from that same crash had pierced his lung. The lung that had been pierced is long since removed, replaced with a cybernetic double.
Personality: To those who just meet him in passing, Krystian is just a quiet, and apparently strongly reclusive individual. He likes to listen to music, or write in his journal, generally preferring to avoid crowds where he can, and often liking the silence of his quarters to the noise and company of the clubs that so many of his fellow Marines frequent on shore-leave. He seems to be just an introverted soul that likes to do his own thing and be left alone. He speaks little, preferring to act rather than talk, and simply doesn't like to socialize. Many of those who might try to poke and prod at him would be simply shut away, ignored almost entirely if possible for him to do so. Yet those with the rank to pull his psychological assessment without his consent would be able to tell just why the quiet young sniper is like the way he is.
The first, most surprsing thing, is that he is religious. A four letter word in Nepleslian society.
It has been noted by a Navy doctor that he seems to hold a belief in some sort of higher divine being. The report is that the belief developed due to his experiences in life before shipping out to Marine boot camp. After seeing so many potentially highly traumatic moments in his life over the years, he finds it hard to believe that the world ends with a bullet to the head. Besides that, he tends to be anti-social, with a noted distrust for others – particularly older women. His interest in music also seems to be used as a tool to avoid others. He will plug his head-phones in, play a few songs, and then just enjoy the silence: using the head-phones to make sure that most people wouldn't try to talk to him. Yet at the same time, he has a marked dedication to the Marines that seems to bypass his anti-social and anti-feminine habits at times. So superiors shouldn't have worries of his quiet and reclusive nature stopping him from doing what he's ordered to do. The only real problem is getting him to work with fellow Marines that he can trust . . .
* Likes: He likes listening to music, putting his ear-phones in so nobody talks to him, writing in his journal, occasionally he has been caught admiring a photo of Sophia, enjoying a stiff drink on his down-time, quiet, and – though he would never let others know – he likes to watch various movies when he has private time.
* Dislikes: Belligerent drunks, most of the work of Aethersperm, having his privacy invaded, talking about his past experiences, and the kinds of superiors who think they have to “talk out emotions” with him.
* Goals: His goals are as unknown as the Marine himself, though not in some secret, or horribly evil way. More that he just doesn't seem to have any plainly stated goals. He just – exists.
Dirk Czarnecki - Father, 54. [DECEASED]
Maria Czarnecki, maiden name Gerste - Mother, 56.
Florian Czarnecki - Brother, 21. [DECEASED]
Sophia Clayton - Girlfriend, 25. [DECEASED]
Krystian's story starts out like many others of a middle-class family. His mother, Maria Czarnecki, was a former Navy doctor, getting out of the service three years prior to his birth after she fell for a strapping young Marine NCO by the name of Dirk Czarnecki. His father was sadly rarely able to spend time at home, assigned as sniper in a forward-operating Marine unit, and thus often spending years at a time away from them. They would follow, where they could, going from military post to military post, but for the most-part he rarely ever saw his father. He never really got to know the man either. At first an only child, he was joined by his younger brother Florian when he was two years old, and just as the family gained one member – they lost another. His father only ever saw the two together during a four-week period of leave, before shipping out to some far-away military post where they couldn't possibly follow him. Four months later, a letter had arrived in the mail, and informed Mrs. Czarnecki of the “green-on-green” friendly-fire incident that had taken the now late Dirk Czarnecki during a routine live-fire training exercise.
Without knowing what was going on, Krystian was suddenly thrust in to the position of being the man of the house-hold. Yet it wouldn't just end there for him, with his naturally quiet nature causing him to be the source of bullying throughout his elementary school years, and being considered a bit of a social outcast. It was miserable for him, with life at home being no better as he got older. His mother, apparently over-estimating her ability to go without a man, began to molest her oldest son, and use him in a sick and perverted manner as a young replacement for her lost husband. This fostered in him resentment for what he saw as his mother’s betraying him. It lasted for several years, a secret occurrence, and only stopped with age. As he grew old enough and tough enough that neither the bullies of old nor his mother could mess with him, it created a blanket of safety for him.
He became his brother Florian's protector, looming over Florian's classmates who might seek to bully him and at the same time – fending off his mother should she attempt the same thing again. He was a quiet sort, more interested in theater, and the performing arts than almost anything else. Of course he passed academically, yet not enough to be notable at graduation, or really at any other time during his high school career. Somehow, despite his lack of trust in others, he managed to actually be involved with a few girls during his time in high school, and developed a small circle of friends over time. Yet none of that caught his eyes as much as one week after his graduation, when he met a young Marine Private on shore-leave from her first tour by the name of Sophia Clayton. The two began to hit it off, hanging out with one another, getting to know one another, and eventually starting to go out with one another on more than just a friendly level. They seemed perfect for each other, with his quiet and reserved nature able to keep her in check when it was most important, and with her outgoing ways making it almost impossible for him to not socialize with at least a FEW other people. She encouraged his dreams of becoming an actor, to star in the kinds of movies that he loved so much. Yet things would go bad quickly, shortly after he got his first minor role in a movie.
To celebrate the event he, Sophia, Florian, and Florian's girlfriend Maggie Horton had all gone to Sophia's house to celebrate. They drank, danced, and drank some more. They were absolutely blind drunk when suddenly one of them had the idea to drive around to some of the local clubs. Krystian grabbed Sophia's car keys and they had all headed out – and the wreck they got in was brutal. The two occupants of the other car made it out remarkably unscathed, but they were not nearly so lucky. Sophia was killed on impact, Florian was knocked out but died by the time paramedics arrived, Maggie was in a vegetative state for seven months, and Krystian lost both a lung and one of his legs due to injuries that put him in to a three-week long coma that doctors had first thought he would never come out of.
When he awoke, he felt that what had happened to him had been some sort of message. He felt that he had been living his life the entirely wrong way and needed to do something better than just act in some cheap B-rate vid for starry-eyed fan-girls. So once he had recovered, gotten used to the cheap insurance-provided implants, and was deemed fit to leave the hospital his first stop had been at a Marine recruiting office. There, he signed his name, and they shipped him off to boot camp. In there, he didn't seem too unique or different from his fellow recruits – except for his dead-eye accurate rifle qualification that caught the eye of sniper school instructors. However, due to lack of rank, and NSMC doctrine, he wasn't volunteered for the sniper training, and was simply put on a list of individuals to be examined at a later date. So for the time being, he used his Marine pay to improve his cybernetic replacements, and waited patiently for his first assignment to come along.
Information TBA.
1.) Communication. Krystian is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other individuals through headsets, ships, ground vehicles, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. He is fluent in Nepleslian. He can speak and write it correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc. Krystian is also skilled in field communications and is proficient in all rudimentary forms of communication (hand signals, flashing lights, etc).
2.) Fighting. Krystian received intensive hand-to-hand combat training (primarily focused on disabling and/or killing opponents) and has followed up that knowledge with a rigorous training program. Weapons he is trained in include pistols of all types, knives, grenades (and other forms of explosive weaponry) and rifles of all kinds. He is in excellent physical shape and has considerable endurance. He is also able to pilot land-based power armors, but must rely on the suit’s A.I. to do anything incredibly advanced.
3.) Survival. As a Marine, Krystian's ability to survive in a hostile environment can be absolutely vital to the success of his mission. He is trained how to forage for food, find water, and gather various needed supplies. He is capable of building a shelter, camouflaging himself and his equipment thoroughly, and is incredibly familiar with guerilla warfare tactics. He has also taken it upon himself to go past the very basics the Marines teach, volunteering for schools were possible, and expanding his abilities in this field at every chance which is presented to him.
4.) Strategy (Tactics/Discipline). Krystian can understand and give out tactical commands and work with his fellow Marines to follow those commands efficiently. He knows the importance of teamwork on the battlefield, has been intensively trained in discipline and morale, and is able to recognize the command structure even while under extreme pressure (combat, etc). Krystian is able to recognize ambush points, vantage points, and ideal sniping locations due to his training. He knows basic math in order to calculate distances, etc, and can use a tactical map.
5.) Acting. If there is one thing that Krystian enjoyed before he entered the NSMC, it was the idea of being an actor. He loved the thought of being in famous vids, or on a stage performing for an audience. He preferred the rarely seen crime drama stories and similar stories. To a lesser extent, he was also a fan of the occasional romantic comedy that he could manage to find. He pursued it extensively in his younger years, meaning that he has practiced how to throw a variety of accents, and has come to learn how to use the skill of blending in by the simple act of pretending to belong in the area if he wanted to. Though he would prefer to use the skills in a more recreational manner.
