Nola stands five feet tall, with long jet-black hair that extends down past her waist. Other than basic care such as washing it, she doesn’t seem to style it, usually leaving it as a disheveled mess. However, the hair itself is healthy, so at least she maintains it to some degree. She has piercing red eyes, but clear dark bags can be seen under them, a testament to her lack of sleep. Whether this is by choice or not is another matter.

Nola’s skin is what one would call “sun-missed” — she is extremely pale. Despite this, her skin is well cared for, indicating she rarely exposes herself to natural light. Her body is thin, with a very lithe build, even more so than the average Norian. While she is healthy, she is just barely on the lower edge of that scale, hinting that she likely skips meals rather often. Nola Aberdeen was born on YE 20.9.35 on the capital world of Noria. She was born during the last years of the space race and the colonization of Ayenee. She lost cousins, uncles, and aunts in the Umarian Wars, reducing her family size to only a scant few. This loss left the young girl somewhat detached due to the sudden disappearance of so many family members.

The Void War thinned her family even further, leaving Nola increasingly detached and isolated. She withdrew into herself as she grew. Eventually, her mandatory military service introduced her to her obsession: Hiveminds. Connecting with and interacting with them more deeply than most, she sought to understand their makeup and functions, how to create them, and how to manipulate their genome. She delved headfirst into her new obsession. While others lost themselves to Asuna energy and its allure, Nola spurned that source of power, focusing solely on what she considered their future: the Leviathans and Hiveminds.

She continued her work and research through the Craethel War. By that point, all her remaining family had already perished in space against their new foe. Nola found herself feeling nothing. She still had access to the thing that had pulled her out of her isolation years ago: the Hiveminds of the Leviathans. Thus, her work and studies continued, deepening her knowledge and focus.

When she learned others believed their homeworld was destroyed, her reaction was much the same as when her family died: nothing. The only response she showed was slight irritation that her research was interrupted to be informed of the situation.

• Medical training how to treat wounds, perform surgery, etc etc, however she learned more for scientific reasons rather then medical reasons and her bedside manner is atrocious.
