Star Army Standard Issue Items

These items are assigned to a soldier at the start of his or her enlistment. Standard issue items are government property and must be cared for. Some items (such as pistols and communicators) must be returned if the soldier leaves the Star Army of Yamatai.

NOTE: If you only have the standard issue gear, then you can just link to this page instead of copying the gear to your character page. This will keep you from having to update your character bio when a new set of standard gear arrives.

The Star Army of Yamatai's list of standard issue gear for YE 33 was shorter than in previous years, doing away with some “comfort” items as a cost-saving measure for the ongoing Second Mishhuvurthyar War. Some familiar items that have disappeared are the wooden box for medals, the diamond survival knife, and the shower yukata; however, many of these can still be found at Ship Stores.

In YE 38, the Star Army reviewed its standard-issue gear and made updates. Flying personal drones and science scanners were removed from standard issue due to lack of use, and the Star Army also stopped issuing extra pistol magazines since they were almost never necessary.

In YE 42, the 2 sets of the Star Army Working Uniform, Type 31, including working boots and work gloves (cadet blue), were removed and the Star Army Duty Uniform, Type 42 was added. Undershirts were increased from 3 to 5. The Star Army Poncho, Type 38 became standard only for the Rikugun and the Star Army Field Uniform, Type 37 was added for the Rikugun.

In YE 45.2 the Star Army Communicator, Type 36 and Star Army Utility Belt, Type 32 were removed from standard issue.

YE 45.7 saw the addition of the Star Army Explorer Uniform.

These items are standard issue for the Star Army Rikugun.

The EM-J5-1a - FARS SAOY is available to any soldier who requests one.

Power armor was removed from individual 'standard issue' to instead be assigned by units as needed based on occupation and assignment, but it is still normally provided to most soldiers. The typical armors issued are:

• Space Fleet:
  • a Ke-M2 "Mindy" Series of Power Armor such as:
    • Mindy Ke-M2-2D (common)
    • Mindy Ke-M2-4A (new)
• Planetary Forces:
  • Daisy M6 Infantry Power Armor and a Ke-M6-W2921 Atmospheric/Space Plasma Rifle.

Other armors may be provided based on the assignment.

For Mini-Nekos, the pistol is replaced with a Type 35 Nekovalkyrja Mini Laser.

For Kodians, the pistol is replaced with a Nekovalkyrja Service Pistol, Type 33/B Kodian.
