Massive space 'whales' that have been observed to exceed 2kms in length. Like the Monodont, the Alaeni possess long, flowing fins, numerous tentacles, and are covered by Aetherphores.

The Alaeni seem to feed on dense gases from the nebula, as well as from gas giants. Their 'teeth' are designed to filter out larger debris, such as asteroids.

Unlike the Monodont, Alaeni do not seem capable of FTL travel. Their primary propulsion still seems to be based on the Alcubierre effect, allowing them to create a localized pocket of space-time gravimetric shifts that propels them along in the vacuum of space.
