The Super Vogel provides a ship with propulsion and power through manipulation of space. The space distortion effects are also put in use for other things such as sensors, weaponry, and stealth. Originally developed to help extend FTL functionality, the Super Vogel has key advantages over systems used by NAM in the past such as the ability to generate its effects in localized areas away from the machine itself.

The Super Vogel is capable of generating a conventional space distortion field around the ship which encapsulates the ship in a bubble and then moves that bubble at many thousands of times the speed of light while keeping the ship at rest inside of the bubble.

To facilitate point to point FTL functions the ship transitions into higher dimensions where space between locations is effectively less. The ‘hyperstream’ capabilities of the system are designed to be the equivalent of the Nermian Hyperstream systems on the Nepleslian Star Army DD4.

The space distortion effects of the FTL system are used to generate power for the ship’s various systems through controlled collapse of higher dimensional space much like conventional aether or hyperspace tap systems. Also like conventional power systems the output is limited by the system’s power bandwidth.

In addition to generating a FTL bubble around the ship, the Super Vogel can generate an FTL bubble outside the ship and let it move on its own. The bubble is set up in such a way that mass passing through the boundary is violently accelerated, creating a shearing effect and intense heat.

In addition to collapsing higher dimensional space the Super Vogel is also capable of generating additional higher dimensional space by folding up real space. This system is highly effective against active sensor systems by absorbing radiation emitted from the ship but does nothing to stop a sensor network from looking for a sensor dead zone.

The intense distortions used to fold space can also be used to manipulate the gravity around the ship. Specifically this is used to propel the ship at STL speeds.
