Fort Stryhm

Fort Stryhm is the headquarters of Legion V, strategically located on the western continent of Eldurheim on the planet Onigashima (Planet). As the primary military installation for Legion V, Fort Stryhm serves as a critical command center, training facility, and defensive stronghold. It is an extensive and highly secure base is designed to withstand prolonged sieges and planetary bombardment for up to five years, ensuring the protection and operational readiness of the Legion should the planet ever come under attack again.

5th Legion Patch

Layout and Facilities

Fort Stryhm encompasses a sprawling complex, comprising both surface and subterranean facilities. The surface area houses various key installations, including a small airfield for shuttlecraft and smaller starships, training yards for combat exercises and drills, vehicle bays for maintenance and storage of ground-based assets, and shuttle pads for rapid deployment.

However, the heart of Fort Stryhm lies beneath the surface, where a vast network of tunnels and chambers form the subterranean military base. Seperated from the surface by a protective shell of fifty meters of reinforced material, These underground sections are specifically designed to ensure maximum security and operational efficiency should the planet become besieged or invaded. The layout consists of multiple interconnected levels, each serving a distinct purpose in support of Legion V's mission.

The first level of the underground base houses administrative offices, command centers, and communication hubs, serving as the nerve center for Legion V's operations. Here, officers and personnel coordinate strategies, monitor incoming data and intelligence and maintain constant communication with the Legion's forces and external command structures.

The second level contains a comprehensive array of amenities to support the needs of the Legion's soldiers. It includes living quarters, mess halls, recreational areas, and medical facilities, providing a comfortable and functional environment for the personnel stationed at Fort Stryhm. The base also features fitness centers, training facilities, and simulation rooms to enhance the physical and tactical prowess of Legion V's soldiers.

Further down, the third level houses the armories and weapon storage facilities. These heavily secured areas house a vast arsenal of weaponry, ammunition, and equipment required for Legion V's operations. From aether rifles and power armor suits to specialized ordinance and cutting-edge technology, the armories of Fort Stryhm are meticulously organized and closely guarded to ensure readiness and swift response to any threat. There is enough ordinance to equip six times the legions current 20,000 troops.

The fifth level down contains not only the supplies and fabricators needed to keep the bases stocked and running for up to five years but also the cloning bays enough to triple the Legions numbers with fresh neko and get them trained, equipped, and ready for combat within a six-month period.

Defense and Security

Fort Stryhm boasts a robust defense and security system to protect against external threats. The base itself is built into a mountainside and only accessible through either air, foot, or through a massive gate nearly impenetrable by any man-portable ordinance. The subterranean nature of the base provides inherent protection, shielding it from orbital strikes and mitigating the impact of conventional attacks. The entrances and critical access points are fortified with reinforced blast doors, and advanced biometric security measures to restrict unauthorized entry.

To further enhance the defensive capabilities, Fort Stryhm features a comprehensive surveillance and sensor network that constantly monitors the base's surroundings and airspace. Advanced detection systems, including radar arrays and motion sensors, provide early warning of potential threats, enabling rapid response and countermeasures.

Additionally, the base is equipped with a state-of-the-art anti-aircraft and PA defense system, featuring automated turrets, surface-to-air batteries, and energy-based shield emplacements. These defensive measures work in tandem to deter and neutralize aerial threats, safeguarding the base and its personnel.

The tunnels within the subterranean complex are carefully designed with interconnected sectors, allowing for efficient movement and quick deployment of troops. Secure transit routes and checkpoints ensure controlled access throughout the base, while emergency escape tunnels provide contingency plans in case of emergencies or prolonged sieges.

Role and Significance

As the headquarters of Legion V, Fort Stryhm plays a crucial role in coordinating the Legion's operations, training its soldiers, and safeguarding the strategic interests of Onigashima. The base serves as the central hub for planning and executing military campaigns, conducting intelligence operations, and overseeing logistics and supply chains.

Fort Stryhm's location in the western continent of Eldurheim places it in proximity to key operational areas on the planet of Onigashima, allowing for swift response and deployment of Legion V's forces to address regional threats or engage in offensive maneuvers. The base acts as a strategic outpost, projecting Legion V's presence and influence throughout the continent and serving as a deterrent against potential aggressors.

Furthermore, Fort Stryhm's subterranean capabilities, including its ability to withstand prolonged sieges and bombardment while being secluded enough to not threaten planetary settlements if bombarded, underscore its importance as a critical asset in ensuring the continuity of Legion V's operations even in the face of sustained enemy assaults or planetary-scale conflicts. The base's robust defenses and advanced infrastructure provide a secure and well-equipped headquarters for Legion V's commanders, enabling them to effectively lead and support their troops in both defensive and offensive operations.
