'Tyranitum' is the nickname given to the metal alloy currently in use by the I'ee. Earlier I'ee ships like the Patrol Craft used simpler, less consistent construction materials that lent them little protection even against their own weapons.

However, newer craft utilised by the elder I'ee families have begun to make use of the so-called Tyranitum. Its primary component is titanium combined with elements such as vanadium and aluminium. The alloy possesses a brilliant, orange-gold lustre that somewhat resembles copper; an intentional specification by its creators, who greatly enjoy the colour of the far softer metal.
