Occhestan Armor generally contains a layer consisting of a proprietary cermet. This Cermet is related to and was developed along side HECAC armor. Its primary purpose is to transfer heat produced in the layers above it from impacts (since both kinetic shocks and energy weapons will heat up the armor as they are blocked) throughout the armor so that it can be re-radiated. I also transfers the waste heat from the crew and the ships own internal systems to be re-radiated. This material is not restricted to its primary armor layer and threads of it continue throughout the inner armor. The WS2 and HECAC layers are also quite thermally conductive and assist with heat transfer.
