Communications are a key component to establishing a civilization, exploration, and military ventures, thus, communications technology is essential. The Lorath have developed a series of communication methods to allow them to communicate between themselves, other ships, and even other nations.

Due to the duration which the Lorath have required the need to communicate, several methods of communication have become common place on Lorath civilian and military applications.

Through the use of transmitted signals on an electromagnetic band, the Lorath are capable of sending communications across large distances, unfortunately this system relies on a signal which is limited by the speed of light.

A directed beam of transmitted light or energy can be aimed at a target receiver, the beam can then carry a signal which can only be received by the receiver on the path of the beam. Unfortunately, as with radio communications, the signal's speed is limited by the speed of light.

In close proximity operations, planetary operations, and in-ship operations, wired communications are still used. Utilizing standard electrical signals through highly conductive wire, wired communication allows for the rapid transmission of data between two locations. Unfortunately, this method of communication is limited by the speed of light.

Lorath vehicles, ships, and mecha have a built in feature which allows for any surface of the vehicle to be made into a connection for communications. This system allows for two vehicles to quickly establish a secure communications link and to quickly exchange data.

Through the use of the Lorath's preexisting and cybernetics granted psionic capabilities, psionic communications have become possible. Artificial delta and alpha wave signal transmitters, amplifiers, and receivers allow for the rapid exchange of data through psionic signal transmission. These transmitters can utilize subspace and quantum charges to allow for signals to be accelerated to super-luminal velocities. Unfortunately, these devices have been designed for Lorath brainwaves, thus can not be utilized by alien species, however an augmented communication hub can be provided to off-worlders on request to allow for communications access.

Through the use of hyperspace and subspace technology, communication signals can be sent across space with latencies of less than a second. These signals allow for up-to-the-second communications and coordination between ships, planetary facilities, and even assets which may be many light-years away.

Through the use of the same technology which allows for the Lorath to subspace charge their weapons, the Lorath have managed to apply the technology to laser communications. By establishing a subspace charge in the photons which are passed through the transmitter, the laser transmission is capable of traveling at many times the speed of light, thus allowing for rapid and secure directed communications.

Through the use of a subspace charge system, electrical signals and the wires they travel upon can be charged with a subspace field, allowing for greatly accelerated communication speeds over conventional wired communication networks.

Through the use of the manipulation of subspace and EM fields, quantum transmitters are capable of sending a signal through the fabric of space allowing for rapid communications between entire fleets of ships with many possible encryptions. Needless to say, quantum communications are easy to detect due to the amount of power which is required to transmit.
