Intended purely for power armor, the small mechanical unit launch bay is intended to handle the launching of power armor units up to eight meters in height. Larger units tend to be cramped, and can be forced to duck or kneel in some cases. Power armor units are propelled from the launch bay by electromagnetic rail systems. Power armor units in this application are kept in a separate section of the launch bay to allow for pilot personnel to easily suit up without risking getting in the way of the launching system. Small mechanical unit launch bays have basic sliding bay doors, forcefields, and a plasma wash system which is used to prevent intrusion or ship contamination.
