Designed by the LSDF to be used for the holding of moderate quantities of cargo on starships and in installations, the medium cargo hold is the cargo hold size of choice on ships which are not intended to include cargo hauling as their primary or secondary function. Medium cargo holds at minimum are ten meters in height, and occupy an average space of a twenty to thirty meter square.

Medium cargo holds include the following features.

• Gravity Manipulation Cargo Lifts
• Inter-deck lift capabilities in many cases
• Stripped down ASX-102 YUNERON units with after-market load bearing management systems
• Ceiling and deck integrated robotic manipulator arm systems
• Isolated atmospheric control system
• Hazardous material management systems and equipment for nuclear, biological, and chemical hazard handling
• Emergency plasma wash system for contaminant removal
• Internal sensor system intended for inventory management
