Voltam Tyo'te is a liquor that has its origins back on the Otâgolisoy (Birth world). It is made from processing the remnants of Ikâ vitdâmu that has been pressed for the sugar.
When poured from the bottle it is a very dark liquid and somewhat viscous. In its natural state it is somewhat toxic.
It is placed in a cup or a bowl and set on fire. The fire causes a chemical reaction and when it is complete the liquid is an amber color and tastes much better.
Cost: 1 Quart 20 OW
“That flaming liquid Sar-Hanako is a dangerous substance in its original form. However, setting it on fire causes a chemical reaction that destroys the toxic properties, and improves the taste. I am told they tried to distribute the purified version and it was not accepted. Apparently the stuff is not as good cold, and letting it burn gets it to the proper temperature.”
“I see,” Hanako nodded.Once the flames died out, she brought the small bowl to under her nose and gave it a curious sniff. After a moment, she gave it a sip, too. “Interesting!” She sipped a little more. “This is intoxicating,” she remarked.
Tesgi smiled, “I am glad you like it. I tend to drink it sparingly, only because of my physical stature. A Qaktoro can easily drink two or three of those. Two of them and I am ready to find a place to nap.”
