Also know as the AEHR, the Attachable External Humidifying Respirator has been around for centuries.. so to speak. Each citystate had its own version even before the creation of the Commonwealth. During the Heretic Wars, all of the ideas for this device were put together into one product. It became a vital task when the heretics began to use chemical weapons against the faithful. Along with the Ikonmoud, the AEHR can protect the entire body from chemical harm. A cloth comes with the filter to cover the entire head and then tucked under the skinsuit. The filter itself resembles an ancient form of gas mask.

Two large goggle-eyes allow the wearer to look forward, but peripheral vision is limited; and two cylindrical devices at the mouth, one to inhales air as well as water while the other is for exhaling. The exhale hole is found directly where the mouth is located, and the inhale hole is to the right side close to wear the cheek and right lip edge meet with a large cylinder canister filter. The canister is palm-sized in diameter and at least an inch in thickness. This filter is usually only used to filter air, but it can filter water, too. The entire filter is made out of Kerius Kelp stalk, glass, and bits of titanium.

The AEHR will filter out any toxins that may be breathed in from the mouth or algae-hair. Although the algae hair is limited in its capabilities of oxygen absorption, it would die if it came in contact with some toxic chemicals. Not only does it purify the air/water, but it also moistens and cools it for normal Azorean standards. Recently, several groups of elite holy warriors have begun to wear the AEHR for an extra look of intimidation, both in and out of battle.
