Much like its broadside mounted kin, the 40m Graser is a Gamma Ray Laser used as an Anti-Ship weapon. With a lens of 40 meters in diameter, this Graser is normally mounted as a chase weapon (a weapon parallel to the spine). The system itself takes up much less room than the former co-axial weapon of choice, the Chase Ion Cannon, which means it can be fitted into an escort type craft and allow more room for support facilities. However, the Chase Graser is normally added to Cruiser and Capital type warships, though it makes an attractive weapon for possible Gunship type vessels.
