A solid-state laser used to carry information on a tight beam, the Laser Communication system is a Light Speed system that is hard to jam and intercept. Because of this, Laser Communication is limited in range because of the speed of transfer. This system is much slower in atmosphere than it is in space.

The smallest Laser Communication System, the Planetary Vehicle Laser Comm. is normally attached to military vehicles. With an effective range being in line of sight of the target at 3 kilometers, it's maximum range of 5 kilometers is almost never used.
