Abwehran Holographic Displays come in two different types, screen and tanks. Screen holographic displays use a translucent sheet of synthetic sapphire held vertically and a series of three lasers (red, blue, and green) are placed at the bottom to shine upward through the crystal lattice. The screen model has varied uses as anything from advertising to keyboards, and has many civilian and military uses.

The tank model is most commonly used on board military installations, and is a large tank made of the same synthetic sapphire. Instead of lasers shining upward, the tank is more like the antiquated cathode ray tube, in that the lasers are directed directly at the screen formed by the tank's wall, rather then shone upward.
