A combination of maintenance and launching facility, a Drone Hive is a crisscross of catwalks that divides the space into six-twelve sectors. Each sector holds a single drone, making a total of six to twelve in all¹⁾, and all the equipment necessary to arm and maintain it. While the number of Drone Hives depends upon the size and classification of ship, most Abwehran vessels have at least one drone hive.

Typically, a Drone Hive acts differently from a Standard Hangar Bay. Instead of catapulting drones out like the Hanger Bay does fighters, the drone bay merely releases and retracts drones via a set of retractable arms. From there, the drone is released from the arms and launches under its own power.

The drone complement of a Drone Hive is normally half Combat Drones and half Construction/Repair Drones. However, if there are multiple Drone Hives the drone complement maybe divided evenly between them all by type.

A Abwehran Fire Suppression Locker and a First Aid Station are located near the entrance.
