C11

The C11 is a multi-purpose replacement for the C5 that is more suited for faster, long distance missions.

About the Ship

Designed in YE_40, the C11 built on the same principals as the C5 but with a focus on speed and carrying capacity instead of compactness and maneuverability.

The ship itself consists of four C5 hulls connected together with scaffolding. Additional connective scaffolding is used to hold the FTL control pannels in the midsection of the ship. The rear of the ship consists of the primary engine and radiators, devoting nearly half of the ship entirely to propulsion while leaving the front area mostly empty for cargo and equipment. The tubular scaffolding helps cut down on the weight of the craft while helping the hull retain strength.

The intent behind the ship is for new variants to be quickly produced based on the end user's needs. Cargo, crew areas, weapons, armor, or utility gear can quickly be added to the ship's scaffolding to fit just about any need.

Key Features

The primary use of this ship is to serve as a basis for other ships oriented towards a specific purpose. Without any additional modifications, the ship can server as a fast transport.

Mission Specialization

The primary usage of the ship is for:

  • Fast Equipment Transport
  • Serving as a basis for more specialized ships.

Appearance

The main body of the ship is a long hexagonal tube made up for scaffolding. The center of the ship has four panels on scaffolding that extend outward to hold the FTL systems. Reaction-mass drop tanks are stored in between these panels. The rear of the ship has six radiators to help dissipate heat, and contains a single massive engine system that runs nearly half the length of the interior of the ship. The front of the ship is empty save for thrusters and shields on the forward part of the craft.

History and Background

The ship itself was developed in YE_40 specifically to handle tasks that the C5 was unable to due in part to the C5s size. The initial frame of the ship was able to be quickly put together using existing components. The initial frame of the ship was rushed out, so that other teams could start putting together specific-use ships based on that framework.

Statistics and Performance

The C11 is a very lightweight ship, with large engines and minimal armor.

General

Passengers

There are no provisions for human crew onboard the C11.

Crew: 0

Dimensions

  • Length: 760meters
  • Width: 140 meters
  • Height: 110 meters

Propulsion and Range

  • Hyperspace Fold Drive: 0.75 ly/min
  • Sublight Engines: 0.45c
  • Lifespan: 12 years
  • Refit Cycle: 3 years

Damage Capacity

See Damage Rating (Version 3) for a guide to damage ratings to include.

SARPv3 Tier: Tier 14, Medium Capital Ship *Unarmored Shield Type: Bubble

Ship Systems

The C11 has most of its electronics, power, and control systems tucked away under the armored plates that also house the ship's FTL systems in the center of the ship. The ship contains only the bare minimum necessary to ensure reliable functionality and is intended only to act as a base for building other more fully featured starships

Storage

The C11 has only minimal mounting spots for cargo, though additional mounting points inside of the main area can easily be added.

972 Huge size cargo containers can he held inside of the scaffolding, in groups of 9 attached to each of the 6 interior faces in a row 18 deep.

972 additional containers can be stored on the exterior of the hull in a similar configuration.
