Built by the Frontier Manufacturing Service for the Recoiless Gravity Cannon at the beginning of YE 40 and later for the Recoilless Graviton Howitzer in YE 41, the NC Projectile is a munition for close combat and antipersonnel usage with vehicular application. When fired the canister is is launched into the beam of gravitons and immediately breaks apart releasing its contents into the stream of gravitons and altering it into a a 15° cone-shaped wave. The resulting shotgun blast makes the cannon slightly more capable of hitting fast moving targets and extra effective at swatting groups of power armored infantry or missiles.

Shavings from the creation of diamond SP-ADR projectiles are collected and shaved into razor sharp needles that also cut from the sides. When fired the gravitons in the pulse lose their coherency and leave the barrel in a shotgun-like wave, casting razor sharp needles all along the way. These pose serious danger to personnel even after the shell is fired as these needles aren't magnetic and cannot easily be removed from the body and cut just fine when stepped on. The area affected by a needle canister tends to have a certain sparkle from the remaining shreds of diamond.

These needle canisters look exactly like what you would expect them to, large plastic canisters filled with long slivers of diamond.
