Personality: Three words can describe Dirk: cheerful, energetic, and friendly. Despite his positive outlook in life Dirk is extremely paranoid and as such he carries around a mop or polishing a tankard. The only time he lets his guard down is when he is weaving a story. He also prefers tidiness and is often found cleaning when he is both on and off the job.

Born to Michael and Jane Flynn (died in child birth).

Growing up, Dirk's father owned a restaurant at which he helped cook, clean, and bus tables once he reached his teens. At a young age his father noticed Dirk's knack for the culinary arts and proceeded to teach Dirk everything he knew. As he grew older he surpassed his old man and became the head chef. Sadly, his father, who was extremely overweight, died of a heart attack when Dirk turned 22. His death caused an oil fire and burned down the restaurant. Mourning the death of his father and the loss of his inheritance, Dirk used the insurance money to start a new life and left for the colonization of system_p1-8_avante. Since arriving, he has joined up with Amelia "Amy" Jensen and became one of the bartenders and financiers for the establishment.

While Dirk enjoys bartending, he wishes to become a professional storyteller. Shortly before his father died, Dirk got into a brawl with a customer and nearly lost his arm; he now has a large scar and a great tale to tell because of it. Dirk enjoys telling stories to his customers and is equally interested in their tales, no matter how fantastic the stories may seem. He is always cheerful. He also has a strong dislike for conventional weapons and prefers to use his fists or any item within his grasp to defend himself.

Dirk can be a bit of a drunk at times and is occasionally found “testing” the private stocks.

Dirk Flynn is in excellent physical shape and has considerable endurance. He constantly works out to maintain his physique.

Dirk Flynn has been in numerous bar and street brawls; he can hold his own and is known to have a mean left hook. He is also known to be decent with improvised weapons during his fights.

Dirk Flynn excels at story-telling. He has many epic tales under his belt and will occasionally repeat them.

Due to his bartending, Dirk is able to tell the difference between most, if not all, counterfeit money as well as convert currencies in his head.

Dirk is able to talk his way out of a fight on most occasions. He has gained this skill from being a bartender. He was able to negotiate many disagreements between customers in the past and continues to have the knack.
