Build and Skin Color: Rosec'a is of a rather average height and build for a Shukaren-Daur, filling in that median point in height and weight admirably. Like most Daur, she's rather slender and slight - almost childike, by the standards of many species. Her complexion is very pale, classically Celtic. Her tail, like her ears, is stark snowy white.

Eyes and Facial Features: Rosec'a's eyes are unusual, a deep forest green. She has an innocent face, with wide, curious eyes and a delicate button nose. Punctuating her pale skin tone and sweet features, she has a light spattering of freckles across both cheeks.

Ears: Rosec'a has large and very active ears, white-furred and yellow-tufted.

Hair Color and Style: Rosec'a's hair is coppery red and curly, and naturally about shoulder-length. She keeps it tied back in a simple French twist style, when she's on duty.

Distinguishing Features: None of note - at least not yet.

Personality: Rosec'a is gregarious and outgoing, with a sweet temperament and a friendly demeanor. She's quick with a laugh, a smile, and a word of encouragement, and she rarely seems to let little things bother her for long. While she often passes off as painfully innocent, she's more worldly than she seems, a product of a healer's empathy and many months spent at the side of the wounded, crippled, and maimed. She's also developed an almost unsettling composure from her medical training - nobody, after all, is better-equipped to deal with horror than a healer.

• Goals: To boldly go to a world where no Daur has ever set foot, and eat its delicious fruits! Also, to help the Volunteer Navy grow and thrive in a frightening universe, to protect her countrymen from the vile sedition of terrorism, and to ensure the health and well-being of her crewmates.

Rosec'a is the only child of Amauri Kiy'una and Amauri Ante'n. She has two uncles, Amauri S'ilen and Amauri Tec'ai, as well as one aunt, Amauri Nilan'i.

Born in 743 ER, Rosec'a is barely an adult by Neshaten standards, fresh out of training and a new face in the Volunteer Navy. Raised in a rather small family of artisans, Rosec'a was introduced to the family trade of silverworking before she could walk. Though never a wealthy family, they got by well enough, and they were, for the most part, a rather picturesque and happy family.

In her youth, Rosec'a had little interest in such trivial things as joining the Volunteer Navy or leaving her family's trade. However, in 760 ER, her aunt, Nilan'i, and her father, Ant'en, died in a terrorist action by Netrunu'marol. This changed her outlook substantially, and she began looking into the possibility of serving the Kingdom personally.

She served in the Youth Corps starting in 766, where she found a natural talent for research, medicine, and biology. She also found, through long and arduous trials and training, that fighting wasn't really her bag. She did learn which end of the sword to hold, but beyond that, her abilities never developed far. Fortunately, her natural inclination towards the Medical Corps assuaged what might otherwise be a crippling lack of skill in one of the core soldiering arts.

She transferred to the Navy Medical Corps as soon as she was eligible - a new apprentice healer with grand dreams and only a few bad ideas.

Rosec'a is fluent in spoken and written Tinacen. She's also rather eloquent, capable of speaking fluidly and articulately and clearly and concisely conveying important information. She is proficient in the use of all major communications systems utilized by the Neshaten Volunteer Navy.

Rosec'a is well-versed in the anatomy, genetics, and biological necessities of both Shukaran and My'leke. In the Youth Corps, she took active part in research on new medical treatments under the direction of her Miester. She always found it rather fascinating, and her biological knowledge and meticulousness as a researcher are both well-documented.

Rosec'a knows which end of the sword to hold, knows how to fire a rifle, and knows how to aim a bow. She isn't especially good at any of them - she only barely cleared basic requirements by the skin of her teeth.

Rosec'a loves people, and it shows through in her skill as a counselor, therapist, and psychologist. While her formal training is still in a relatively early phase, her talent is quite notable, and her easy empathy and soothing presence - coupled with the rudimentary knowledge of Neshaten psychology imparted from her training - make her remarkably effective as a provider of mental healthcare.

Her time in the Youth Corps was far from wasted - Rosec'a is a skilled practitioner of Neshaten medicine. She is well-educated in the routine medical needs of Shukaran and My'leke, and also qualified in first aid, pathology, and trauma surgery. Her unflappable composure makes her an excellent candidate for medicine in the field, as well.

Raised by a family with a history of silverworking, Rosec'a was brought up in an artisan trade. She spent much of her first eleven years learning it, but she rarely showed a great interest in it, and following the event that drove her to the Youth Corps, she never returned to the art. Her ability is professional, but unexceptional.

Like any Neshaten, Rosec'a has a rather thorough and extensive education on the history, culture, politics, and problems her people have faced, both in antiquity and in the modern era. A voracious reader, Rosec'a also has a nigh-encyclopaedic knowledge of many popular works of fiction…
