.45 Nepleslian was developed by Rokheus & Surma Equipment and Logistics Support to offer greater velocities over the ubiquitous .45 Zen Armaments ammunition. It is essentially the same as .45 Zen Arms ammunition in terms of external dimensions, though the actual cases are much more thick to accommodate the pressure of the faster burning powders used in the manufacturing of .45 Nepleslian.
Using 280 grain “hard cast” .45 caliber projectiles, made up of various alloys mixed with lead, .45 Nepleslian is superior to .45 Zen in terms of penetration and muzzle velocity/energy. Testing has shown an average of 16 inches against classified targets, and displays a remarkable ability to resist mushrooming when encountering heavy bodily structures.
Furthermore, velocities between 200ft/s and 300ft/s more than standard .45 Zen have been recorded.
However, it does have a noticeably heavier felt recoil. It is also more expensive than .45 Zen.
Because its external dimensions are identical to .45 Zen, firearms designed for and chambered in .45 Nepleslian can fire .45 Zen ammunition by simply changing out appropriate recoil system parts, such as the spring and guide rods of pistols.
Visual Description: Heavy, copper coated rounds with round tip. Set in a nickel casing.
Damage Description: (Tier 1, Light Anti-Personnel) Larger caliber rounds form larger wound channels into the target. Furthermore, due to their heavier weight, they are able to resist deformation upon encountering resistance such as bone, and thus are better able to “hold together” and destroy dense bodily structures.
