Tsukimi is a holiday celebrated in the Motoyoshi Colonial Sector annually on the 2nd Day of the 8th Month of the Year. This marks the celebration for YE 45. Focused in the Hinomaru Sunrises II plot.
“We must keep reaching out, even further, so that there is always a world we can stand on and look to the sky and still see Taiie there.” - Motoyoshi Tachiko, Resolutions of the Ghost - Forty-Two, YE 42 |

The celebration corresponds to the harvest moon of the colony at Taiie that was destroyed in YE 29. Reminiscent of colonist farmers who worked the colony's fields it is a celebration of autumn that is still celebrated by the Motoyoshi. The celebration generally includes feasting within the volumetric captured images of the fallen world's moon, accompanied by soft flowing flute music and tranquil gurgles of water features. It continues to be celebrated annually including the year of YE 45.
In YE 45, Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko holds a celebration for Tsukimi on the YSS Battle Of Ayenee Capital City during their mission to the Kosuke Sector. Meanwhile planets in the Motoyoshi Colonial Sector hold their own celebrations.1)
Taisho Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko, away from Jiyuu for the first time since YE 41, orchestrates a distinctive Tsukimi celebration aboard the YSS Battle Of Ayenee Capital City. The Wardroom is adorned with imagery of Taiie's moon and paintings, commemorating the harvest moon's transformation into a celebration of life and the Motoyoshi Clan's cosmic journey. While memories of Taiie remain a private topic, the backdrop of the Third Mishhuvurthyar War instills genuine fear in the family. Katsuko's lavish celebration includes senior officers, mission teams, and civilians from the Colonization Fleet and Taro's crew. A dance floor awaits, and Katsuko hopes for a memorable Tsukimi with Akina. To lighten the mood, images of Taiie's happier times are projected.
