The Aether Flechette, first introduced as the main weapon for the El-S1-1 Lilaea-class Gunship project, is a guided self-propelled aether detonator. While glorified aether missiles have existed in various forms for several years, the Aether Flechette is notable for two reasons. Firstly, it is the first Elysian munition to make use of CFS technology. Second, it is the first instance of the Elysian Celestial Empire referring to aether as 'aether' rather than 'the generator'. The Aether Flechette is a mid-range, high-yield anti-starship munition equipped with its own CFS. The FTL speed of the Aether Flechette is relatively unimpressive - a mere 4c in open space or 1c in a level 3 Anti-FTL Field. Where it shines is in STL pursuit, where it maintains an impressive clip of .999c even in artificial interdiction fields. It is comparatively smaller than many starship torpedoes, allowing for a greater number to be carried and a faster and more streamlined reload time - the Aether Flechette measures 2.1 meters in length, and has a diameter of 0.6 meters.

Primary Purpose: Anti-starship. Damage: Tier 12, Heavy Anti-Starship Range: 1,200,000 km (about 4 lightseconds ¹⁾) as a guided projectile. After this distance, the Aether Flechette can no longer correct its course. Being self-propelled, it can still keep going a long way. Until it hits something. Payload 40 in each launcher.
