Physical Characteristics

Build and Skin Color: Marco is pale-skinned and has the wiry but muscled frame of a swimmer and cyclist. A short frame has broad shoulders and he's worked hard to keep himself in shape.

Eyes and Facial Features: His eyes are a deep green color, large and round, and with a thin but acquiline nose between. Marco's face is fairly square, with a strong jaw that has a light shadow of stubble on it, and pronounced cheek bones. Some might call his features “strongly set”.

Ears: Marco's ears are perfectly normal for a Nepleslian-born man.

Hair Color and Style: Marco's hair is a very dark blonde. He keeps the sides and back trimmed incredibly short, though he allows the top to grow out some, and lightly spikes up the front.

Distinguishing Features: Hidden well under his uniform, he has tattoos across the entirety of his back and chest, down the entirety of his left arm, and down almost the entirety of his right arm. Marco also often wears several fake rings in both ears when he isn't on duty.

Psychological Characteristics

Personality: Marco Weismuller was born with an extreme adrenaline deficiency, and an early insatiable craving for it. If it goes fast, goes against sanity and logic, defies gravity, or in some other way gets the blood pumping then he wants to do it. What started as a fascination with fast cars grew into a love for the sky early in youth and now a person can find him at his happiest when he's sitting in the pilot's seat of something fast. Marco is also a fan of partying with good friends, going to clubs, and is every bit a Nepleslian at heart in terms of his pastimes and pleasures. Even if may offend the sensibilities of his new-found fellow countrymen and women.

While he can seem every bit the arrogant and overly confident jerk that some people seem to stereotype fighter pilots as, flight school records can attribute to his talent at the yoke, and he also seems to have a mindset of pilots needing to be examples for ground troops: gentlemen and ladies who exemplify the service when it counts the most. Nor does he try to put down his fellow pilots. Again he feels that if anybody should look out for each other, its the pilots of a squadron. The aces should work to help their wingmen, the pilots should work to make the ground crew's job easier, and everybody should come together as part of one efficient process to get the job done.

So in short, Marco is a two-sided coin. First meeting him and leaving it at that would make somebody believe he's an arrogant adrenaline junky. Somebody who took the time to get to know him would find an adrenaline junky - who actually cares for his friends and legitimately wants to the best at what he does and not just say it.

History

Family (or Creators)

Pre-RP

Marco was born to Lucas and Sharon Weismuller as an only child in Funky City. While Marco's mother made work as an elementary school teacher, his father had found employment years ago working as a pilot ferrying NAM cargo shipments across the planet for good money. It meant that Marco grew up in an environment where he wanted for very few things that he couldn't have. Life was good and even in adolescence the youth intended to live it up as best he could. Early childhood was spent in private schooling, with finances from his father and mother meaning he was well-provided for, but even then he got into trouble from time to time. Yet adolescent misbehavior was going to be the least of their worries as their beloved son grew up.

With teenage years came an interest in motors and speed. And girls. At sixteen years old while elbows-deep in the partially built engine of a bike he was building, he had met Jamie Fields while she was visiting the school's auto shop to drop off some things for another teacher. His teacher absent, Marco had passed the time with her chatting idly. Attractive for his age and an increasingly popular figure in school, he had developed a bit of a reputation. He did his best to make full use of it at the time without thinking any better of what might happen in the future. He was only fifteen at the time they started dating and all seemed to be going well. Until her fifteenth birthday when it was found out that she was pregnant. Marco could have run. Could have lied about his age and gone to the Marines, but his parents raised him different than that. So he did his best in those early years to support his new family. He even managed to get a beginning pilot's license after graduating from high school and making a living moving cargo like his father had.

By the time he was nineteen he was married, and the two had been raising their daughter for three years. But Nepleslia is a place often riddled with crime and he learned that the hard way through his family. Gang violence, rampant and out of control, would take them as collateral damage while the family went out to eat one evening. A car bomb placed in front of the restaraunt blasted through the front of the store, flying glass shredded through skin, shrapnel tore apart bodies, and debris shattered bones. Marco was saved by virtue of being thrown back into the bathroom he'd just left, even though the concussive force pulverized his internal organs so that later they would need to be replaced with cybernetics. For his wife and daughter, they felt no pain. They were gone in an instant.

For no reason. They'd done nothing. They'd just gone out for supper.

After a stay in the hospital, during which his lungs and kidneys were replaced with cybernetics, he made a decision. So utterly disgusted by the criminal violence running rampant in Nepleslia, Marco left, and moved to Yamatai in hopes of finding some sort of solace or refuge in there where he joined the Star Army to expedite the citizenship process and volunteered for flight school where high marks and high-rate performance made him recommended for his first posting.

Star Army Common Skills

Star Army Common Skills

Vehicles (Light Fighters, Bombers, Cargo Transports)

Civilian certification in Nepleslia, followed by training in the Star Army as a fighter and bomber pilot upon enlistment, has left Marco with the ability to pilot many fixed-wing aircraft. Particularly fighters, bombers, and cargo transports both in atmosphere or in zero-gravity. He can perform a variety of difficult maneuvers while under high stress and with proper tools and time can perform some level of maintenance and repair (though he requires the aid of trained technicians for more in-depth work).

Entertainment (Singing and Instruments)

With an understanding of music and a hobbyist's singing voice, Marco can play a variety of instruments such as the guitar, violin, and piano. He is also able to carry a tune and rhythm. While no concert performer or star, he is capable of entertaining others or passing time on his own as a hobby. His primary skills lay in the acoustic and electric guitars, both of which he can play far better than other instruments.
