Height: 5' 2” Mass: 110lbs Measurements: 33-25-30 Bra Size: 33C
Build and Skin Color: White skin. Slender and petite.
Facial Features and Eye Color: Neko ears. Slightly tall head. Bright blue eyes.
Hair Color and Style: Light brown hair, just below the shoulders, always tucked behind her ears.
Distinguishing Features: Rosy cheeks.
Personality: Yaeko started off as what you would call a sweet, innocent, “Daddy's little girl.” She is a caring woman who strives for a 'perfect world'. She is slightly spoiled and had a false belief that everyone is kind and nice and that there are just a few bad eggs. She's really giddy and always smiling, but is very intelligent even though it may not seem that way at times. She is also very dependent on people for affection and friendship. She enjoys messing around, doing stuff you would expect 16-17 year olds to do in their free time or drinking frilly drinks at the bar. Until you put her in a cockpit, then things start to change. The “Daddy's little girl” becomes alarmingly fierce, hwe spoiled, rich-girl attitude gives her a quick and deadly temper, and her giddiness turns into pure insanity.
Yaeko is very outgoing an enjoys spending time with people, but also has a tendency to get too excited or over-zealous. She always acts like it's high school again, dressing in tube tops and pajama pants, always trying to impress people, and just doing whatever she finds enjoyable. Popularity is very important to her and her biggest priority is, of course, her hair and makeup. Based on her personality most people see her as a “blonde” until they get to know her, but then people usually just see her as overly fierce and determined, or simply bat-shit crazy. It really depends on the day.
Likes: Happiness, smiling, doing favors, and having fun. Likes when she's in crazy-mode: Speed, torpedoes, sharp turns, explosions, making her EWO vomit everywhere, sniper rifles. Dislikes: Mean people, lying, rudeness, getting dirty, and party poopers. Dislikes when she's in crazy-mode: Idiots, guys that get too hands-on, people shooting at her. Goals: To make the universe a perfect place by helping the SAoY get rid of all the bad people.
“It's just like a game of chicken…” Once the enemies started firing she evaded to the right and began firing. “And they chickened first!” 21st Fighter Squadron, Mission 2
“Did you do what I….OH MY GOD, you puked in my fighter!? UGH!!” Addressing her EWO Silic Vas after he puked in the fighter.
“It looks like now you get to fly with somebody that's crazy and has power.” To her EWO after being assigned the 21st's XO.
“Unlike Minoru, Silic, and Yaeko who seemed to be anxious…terrified or utterly mad (respectively)” Ramirez, Ira, played by Ira
“I'm in the cockpit with a maniac!” Silic Vas, played by Jimmy
“She was fun. In a mentally unstable kind of way.” ShotJon via IRC.
“Well, you had better clear any plans you have for the night spook, between my libido, and Yaeko's lack of sanity you are in for one long night.” Ramirez, Ira, played by Ira
“I chose you because you are the right kind of crazy for the job.” Yaeko being assigned as XO for the 21st.
“YEEEEEHAAA!!!!!” Yaeko screamed as she accelerated the fighter forward towards the enemies. Yaeko's first combat
“I hope this works.” She pulled out her NSP and took careful aim. Taking a deep breath to steady herself, she fired several shots in the air, aimed at the branches that were caught in Silic's parachute. Unfortunately Silic was pretty much right between Yaeko and the parachute, after the first few shots an a sizzle could be heard as a shot lightly scored an arm near the shoulder, the NSP destroyed surrounding branches with a burning smell and exploding sap, loose bark rained down with a few tiny droplets of blood. There was a creak as branches began to bend, then a loud snap sent Silic spinning and tumbling down. He fell another ten feet before another he caught a large branch with his stomach, the creaking sound could have been from either bending wood or cracked ribs. Trying to get her EWO out of a tree
Yaeko tightened down her helmet strap, switched from manual control to her SPINE interface, and waited until the enemies were at a good distance to begin engaging. “Alright Diamonds. This is it. Lock, load, and let's get some!” Your average Yaeko pep-talk
Wealthy Geshrin family, no siblings, transferred to an NH-29 body requested from the SAoY after death.
Yaeko grew up in a very wealthy Geshrin Family. At home she was home schooled and never really exposed to the outside world. Because her family was so giving and caring she got a false idea that the entire world was like that. Since the family was wealthy she is also slightly spoiled and has never had to work for anything in her life. Since she has never seen much of the outside world she has never had a fully functional relationship with anyone outside her family and isn't used to large groups. She has never been away from home for more than a few hours. That all changed when she was 19. About a week after Yaeko's 19th birthday someone broke into her house and killed her and mother.
When Yaeko woke up after her memory backup she was in a hospital, her father standing over her. It was then that her father explained the harsh truth about the real world, told her that he couldn't protect her form that world anymore, and told her that it was time to leave home and live her own life. After deciding she wanted to pursue a career in the military to try and fix the corrupted world she had her memory transferred to a neko body that the family custom ordered to fit Yaeko's physical description. From there Yaeko went on to enlist in the Star Army as a Starship Operator. While in basic training she decided to try and attend Fort Ready and specialize in communications.
Yaeko had a short time at Fort Ready. She had a fun first evening, making new friends, and still managed to wake up for an early morning inspection. She quietly made her way through Fort Ready before graduating and being transferred to the YSS Illustrious.
Yaeko Munkata arrived on her first ship with a hopeful attitude. Upon arriving she quickly located the crew, who were in a restaurant. After proceeding the Starcrosser's Cafe she introduced herself to the Taisa, ate, and the joined the crew for introductions and some small conversation. They were quickly informed of an incoming squadron and the pilots were sent out to engage, Yaeko running communications. After the battle, the activity of the ship became increasingly boring so Yaeko requested a transfer.
After requesting for transfer Yaeko was ordered to the 21st Squadron where she presented herself for an interview with the Chui.
Yaeko's first mission brief with the 21st was on Daichi where she, as was standard for her, settled in as the shy, quiet girl with a bit of a temper. Minutes into the brief that planet was attacked by a small squadron of NMX Battlepods. The 21st was dispatched to intercept and destroy the battlepods, which were attacking the settlement of Ryou. Yaeko was paired with Silic Vas as her EWO After some fancy flying maneuvers and shooting down most of the battlepods the rest turned and started flying at the Yamataian Ke-V8 "Kawarime" Fighter, attempting to kamikaze into them. Yaeko's craft was struck in the back and sent the fighter spiraling towards the ground. While attempting to regain altitude she stalled the fighter and was forced to eject. When he seat was safely parachuted to the ground she went to rescue Silic, who's parachute had gotten caught in a tree. In an attempt to get him down “the easy way” she tried to shoot the branch that he was stuck to, shooting him in the process and causing his limp, unconscious body to fall helplessly to the ground. After performing first aid on him, including for a gunshot wound and the countless bones that he broke hitting tree branches on his way to the ground, a rescue shuttle arrived and spirited the two of them away.
Upon return to the YSS Heitan, the command ship for the 21st, the Fighting Diamonds had roughly two weeks of time to recover from their injuries and wait for Internal Affairs to clear all of the pilots for duty again.
The YSS Heitan had been ordered to an unknown system, designation “Rabbit Hole”. The 21st Squadron's mission was to scout and explore one of the planets within the system to secure the area as a rendezvous point between the Heitan and two Star Army Intelligence operatives that would arrive a few hours after. Before the mission was set to begin the Heitan received word that the SAINT operatives had been compromised, attacked, had jumped to the system ahead of schedule, and had crashed on the one of the planets. The 21st was assigned one of the planets within the system and tasked with search and rescue of any remaining crew. Upon launching, they came in contact with an unknown vessel that blocked the 21st from reaching the planet and launched fighters to intercept the Diamonds. After dispatching them and continuing to the planet's surface a group of NMX were detected inbound. Yaeko escorted the rescue shuttle to the surface while the rest of the squadron handled the NMX. As the shuttle landed and picked up the survivors from the SAINT ship Yeako scouted the area and destroyed a SAM launcher on a nearby hilltop. She then escorted the shuttle back to the Heitan before landing with the rest of the squadron.
Shortly after the mission the Fighting Diamonds were told that, due to their work in Mission 1 on Daichi the Scientific Studies Service (SSS) had put special faith in the 21st Squadron and has requested them for a planet-side protection detail in SX-06.
The 21st Squadron was tasked with security for an SSS compound on Aqueous, as well as scouting the nearby area. A few days into their detail the compound was attacked. Yaeko was on perimeter detail and, having been spooked my one of the local animals, killed a large elk with her NSP, giving away their position and leading to an attack only minutes later. They successfully defended the compound, however some of the scientists and equipment were taken by the attackers. The squadron had a couple hours of sleep before they had to mount up and launch a counter-attack against their unknown enemies. They were headed to a compound that scouts had identified after the firefight. En route their trucks were set upon by enemies. Yaeko had been given the role of their scout sniper and positioned herself in a tree where she was easily able to dispatch enough enemies for the 21st to win this firefight as well. During this fight she earned the callsign of Hunter because evidently she's a very good sniper. The squadron quickly moved to the outpost where they assaulted the location, two squad member creating a distraction, Yaeko and another providing cover fire, and the rest charging in. Yaeko was able to help eliminate two rail guns, a power armor, and some flame-thrower units before the squadron successfully escaped with the prisoners.
Following the mission the 21st Squadron received a Unit Citation for Excellence as a majority of the crew earned awards and promotions. The squadron then had a few days of liberty, during which Yaeko hit the nightclubs with her XO Ramirez, Ira and the squadron's newest SAINT operative Tereane Elisto. The XO might have gotten a little too up close and personal that night.
The 21st Squadron was tasked to be part of OPERATION: Dam Breaker, the assault on the North Gate to break the NMX blockade of Ketsurui Military Zone. Their job was to protect gunboats that would be targeting HVTs. Just before launch there was a shuttle crash on the Heitan and it's commanding officer was injured. As ranking officer the CO of the 21st took command, the 21st XO became CO for the squadron, and Yaeko was appointed as the temporary XO. Upon launch the squadron quickly dealt with a group of NMX fighters and bombers, followed by some power armor. Yaeko's fighter was damaged during the fight, but Silic managed to repair the damage and get the fighter functioning at full capacity. During this time the lead gunboats, almost in range of their targets, hit a minefield of phase mines, heavily damaging the ships. The squadron provided cover for the gunboats to retreat while two of their fighters with electronic warfare suites worked at disabling the mines. However, they were engaged by more battlopods and bombers. After another dogfight a large force of Yamataian reinforcements arrived and the 21st was cleared to return to the Heitan
Yaeko is able to repair damaged communications devices or construct new ones. She can send encrypted messages to personnel and, intercept and decrypt enemy communications. The character is familiar with numerous primitive forms of communications, such as flashing a light or using gestures. She is familiar with basic radio operation and procedures and can make transmissions to and receive transmissions from other characters through headsets, starships, power armor, and shuttles in both combat and non-combat conditions. She is fluent in Nepleslian and Yamataian. She can speak and write both correctly and efficiently and can write reports, fill forms, issue orders under fire, etc. She also has the ability of telekinetic communication from being a Nekovalkyrja.
While being home schooled Yaeko was taught mathematics, including algebra and trigonometry.
During basic training Yaeko learned proficiency in the use of blast pistols, blaster rifles, grenades, and power armor. She was taught to use knives and how to fight unarmed, but she was never very good at it and usually ended up kicking her opponent in the testicles if he was male.
During her home schooling Yaeko's parents taught her the basics of piloting and generic instructions, that could be easily adjusted to fit most ships, on how to pilot a starship. She also received basic education on navigation while in Fort Ready.
Yaeko is capable of operating any computer system that uses the Kessaku OS, found on all Star Army starships. She is proficient in entering and/or searching for information.
Yaeko knows how to survive in hostile environments. She can build shelters, hunt and forage for food, build a fire, etc. She can camouflage herself and is familiar with guerrilla warfare tactics, although she hates doing any of it.
Yaeko is a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to starship operations. She has basic knowledge in how to pilot the ship, use communication devices, operate ship's electronic system, etc. She has a very strong knowledge of the artificial intelligence on a starship and can utilize it to assist his operations on the ship, although this knowledge applies only to the application of the AI, not the repair of it. Yaeko, however, has no knowledge beyond the basics required to operate the ship and what she knows from her specialization in communications. She cannot, for example, repair a shorted-out terminal, hack through a password protected file, perform complex navigational maneuvers.
