OI-G5-1A Link Neural Computer (LNC)

The Link Neural Computer is a personal computer and communicator made available in early YE 37

About the LNC

The OI-G5-1A is a small personal computer and communicator designed with customers who not only need something portable but had many different machines they work on and need a secure cloud to manage their files on. The device runs on a quantum processor and is able to perform basic computer functions and those of a personal communicator. Long range communication requires use of a communications network.

Along with its basic functions the the LNC comes with a small node that through adhesive is fixed to the temple, this allows the LNC to read brain signals and offers hands free communication to the device. If the device is remotely accessing another device, that device can be controlled hands free as well.

The LNC can produce a holographic terminal for hands on interaction with the device. A stand is also included so the device can rest evenly. It can also have an ear clip attached and be worn over the ear similar to a single ear headset. If the Neural Node is in place the holographic display will wrap around the face between the node and device, creating a holographic visor where data and media are displayed while in neural interfacing.

For those who do not wish to use holographic interface or the physical buttons the device can read neurological signals with the included node, as well as using programmable voice commands for things like deactivation, and running macros.

In late production it was decided to use the LNC as a testing platform for the REAL System, as the device was already planned to be neural link capable and it emphasized ease of use.

Appearance

The LNC has an rectangular shape with with a slight inward curve and end wider than the other, the wider end being considered the 'head' and going over the ear when in head set mode. The speaker is located in the head and the microphone in the tail end. In most color schemes the Origin logo is placed near the head on the outer end of the curve so that it is present when in headset mode. There are also a few buttons present on this side for basic controls. Both sides perpendicular to the curve have 6cm long holographic projection surfaces, the OI logo functions as one as well for when the device is being held of sat down.
