Banryū (蟠龍) means “Coiled Dragon” in Yamataigo (邪馬台語).

Tetsuya was given this nickname by his father, Motoyoshi-Ieyasu Taro due to his nature of patiently waiting for the right time to strike. This strategist mentality followed him through his Star Army of Yamatai career, appears in his social interactions and in his personal fighting style.

Tetsuya is a male NH-33 (Tennyo) with Dark Blue hair and crystalline blue eyes. He has elfin features with slender pointed ears and a narrow-gauge chin.

Tetsuya wears a cologne called “Ascendant” that has a very distinct blend scent of black current sweetened bergamot oil, pine, and musk.

Motoyoshi Tetsuya is an INTJ ¹⁾ personality type. Tetsuya is known for his strategic nature; while he's able to react rationally and quickly to situations, he has a tendency to ensure that his analytical assessment has been completed before he will turn thought into action. He sees interactions with others as a game of chess and often deploys complex strategies to help others understand or even be manipulated to his point of view. He often will dismiss traditional ideas, actively showing his devotion to Motoyoshi Clan doctrine of deploying unorthodox measures to overcome obstacles or solve problems.

Having been a secret from most of his own clan for so long, Tetsuya's ability to be patiently reinforced an already strategic and analytical mind. At the same time as he is strategic, he's rather romanticized by personalities like Taisho Ketsurui Yui and his mother Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko. In terms of romance and sexuality, Tetsuya tends to be indulgent and often deploys his strategic and analytical nature to help him gain the affections and infatuation of his lovers.

Tetsuya was created by Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko and Motoyoshi-Ieyasu Taro in YE 32. He was born a NH-33Y (Youngling) (NH-33 (Tennyo)) on Nataria. He was raised by Motoyoshi-Ieyasu Taro and officially only utilized the Ieyasu surname until YE 43 when his existence was shared with the rest of the Motoyoshi Clan.

Ketsurui-Motoyoshi Katsuko and Motoyoshi-Ieyasu Taro created Tetsuya with the intention of replacing Motoyoshi Tio, who in YE 30 backstabbed the family and went with his sister to the United Outer Colonies. Even though Motoyoshi Tio returned to the family in YE 42, he has not regained his full status within the clan.

Motoyoshi Tetsuya underwent initial training and acclamation at Fort Minori Reserve Center before he transferred to the Kyoto War College in the city of Kyoto, on Yamatai (Planet). He finished his undergraduate studies in YE 33 and transferred to Hotaru Star Fortress in the Seventh Fleet as a Combat Systems Operator at the rank of Shoi. During his time on Hotaru Star Fortress, Chujo Motoyoshi-Yamada Ayano served as his mentor and provided him with guidance not only in his Star Army of Yamatai career, but also in what would be expected of him when he became known within the Motoyoshi Clan. He slowly worked up the ranks in the Star Army of Yamatai

In YE 34, after the end of the Second Mishhuvurthyar War, Tetsuya began to take additional classes at Kyoto War College as he continued to serve on Hotaru Star Fortress; he graduated with a Master's Degree in International Diplomacy, and a second Bachelor's Degree in Advanced Leadership. Tetsuya took a great deal of interest in the formation of the Yugumo Corporation in YE 41; he began correspondence with Motoyoshi-Igarashi Yuka after he transferred to the First Expeditionary Fleet as a Combat Systems Operator at the rank of Chusa on Gemini Star Fortress still under the supervision of his mentor Chujo Motoyoshi-Yamada Ayano.

When the Kuvexian War ended in early YE 43, Tetsuya left active service from the Star Army of Yamatai and was placed in the Star Army Reserve, he trains at Fort Tokyo one weekend a month. He then graciously accepted the position of Shachō in the Yugumo Corporation that was offered to him by Motoyoshi-Igarashi Yuka.

In YE 44 he was appointed as Governor of Jiyuu III when his father rejoined the Star Army of Yamatai.
