Na-W3303 Whizzo HPSMG

:!: The following article is currently being edited and is NOT APPROVED for in-character usage. Hugs & Kisses, Sigma

Developed in YE 33 by Nepleslian Arms and Munitions for use as a sidearm for power armored soldiers to replace the LSP, which had proven useless against power armored opponents.

The HPSMG uses the same ammunition as the HPAR 33 but the weapon itself can be set to use different lengths of wire charge to fire the projectile. The weapon uses a wire charge create extremely fast moving jets of molten metal. The considerable recoil makes the weapon only suitable for power armored soldiers.

The weapon itself is much shorter, and much lighter, than the HPAR. It uses advanced composite materials instead of heavy metals to reduce weight in the casing. Removing much of the aiming assembly that focuses the molten projectile also removes much of the heavy magnets, lightening the weapon to the point where it can be carried be an unarmored soldier. Despite being far lighter, The excessive weight of the CSCA 30×3 magazine can make the weapon difficult to hold for long. A single coolant cartridge can be inserted into the base of the stock of the weapon to keep the weapon from overheating from repeated use. Each cartridge is rated for 400 rounds (or one full magazine of CSCA 30×3). The weapon sprays the coolant along the exterior of the barrel, letting the coolant boil off through the side vents. This creates a steam like effect out the sides when under heavy use.

Weapon Mechanisms

Casing The weapon's casing is made out a tough composite material and lined with a metal mesh material designed to shield the interior of the weapon against EMP like effects. Computer A basic maintenance computer that monitors heat build up, the status of internal components, and operation of the magnets that help focus the molten metal. It does not contain wireless access, though it can be plugged into through the rear hatch to get maintenance reports on the gun.
Battery A single CSCA Infantry Power Magazine provides power for the weapon. It is stored inside the butt of the weapon, under a fold up panel on the rear-top.
Bolt Located on both sides of the weapon, the bolt is pulled back to chamber both a coin and a length of wire, or rammed to clear an obstruction in the weapon.
Carry Handle Located on the top of the HPSMG
Coolant System Using a pressurized cartridge of coolant, screwed into a receiver on the bottom of the weapon's stock, the weapon’s computer will try to keep the barrel from overheating by spraying the exterior with coolant liquid. The system is designed to be harder to rupture than the gun’s casing, but still requires periodic maintenance. It is recommended to flush the coolant system with alcohol after use.
Fire Selector A selector switch is located under the fold up panel that covers the battery which switches the weapon from safety to full auto-Infantry mode, to full auto-Armor mode.
Grip The grip is made out of a molded foam/plastic material that is soft to the touch.
Sights Traditional iron sights are integrated into the carry handle on the top of the HPSMG.
Stock The stock of the weapon has a built in shock absorber designed to help mitigate the recoil of the weapon when in use.
